Just until tomorrow night. DH & I are both working this weekend, so we are having Christmas tomorrow. That means that tonight is our "Christmas Eve."
I'm just not feeling it. Know what I mean? I think it's because this is the 3rd Christmas in a row that I've had to work. It's just making me whiney.

I have spent the day wrapping presents & shopping. The house is a mess. I put all the wrapping stuff away & then realized I had hidden more present that I need to get out & wrap.

DD 14 tells me that the only thing she wants for Christmas, the absolute only thing is a pair of pants from hot topic. Nope didn't get them. There isn't even a Hot Topic near my home. DS then tells me that the only thing he really wants is Battlefront 2. Didn't get that eaither. Then DS 4 chimes in that the most important thing on his list is a green bear. A green bear? That wasn't even on his list! I don't know where the green bear thing comes from. :rotfl:

Then DD 14 asked if they get to open present tonight, yep they sure do. :goodvibes "Let me guess, stupid pajamas?" Yep. :teeth:

One more smart remark about presents from her & that new ipod may accidently fall into my stocking. Or I'll open it up & download from Brittney spears, Back Stree boys & Dolly Parton on it. That will teach her to get smart with me on our pretend Christmas Eve. Besides, If I don't find those pajamas soon then no one gets anything tonight! :teeth:

I still have to make cookies, clean the house & find that recipe for a breakfast casserole. Plus I have to make a dish to take to work for a luncheon on Saturday. Pack the kids clothes so they can go to Grandmas for the weekend. Look up a bunch of presents on TRU to see what kind of batteries they take because I wasn't smart enough to check that out before wrapping them.

Then my Dad calls & says did you get your mother a chair massager. Yep, sure did. "Did you get her the 150.00 one at Sams" Nope, I didn't. "Well take it back because I'll just get her the one she wants." I can't take it back. I don't have the receipt. Not a big deal. I'll just give it to DH's aunt. Then Mom calls & apologizes for dad's behavior & says she'll love anything I give her. No big deal, Dad can just give her the real nice one she wants. But the stress of it all just makes me start to cry like a baby. :guilty: I think it was just because I hate to see my Mom feel guilty about Dad's call.

Then I checked my deposit online to make sure I received my paycheck deposit. They shorted me 4 hours of overtime. That's really no big deal either, just a pain in the rear to contact HR about it.

So, If you can throw me some Chrsitmas Spirit I promise to have ti back to you by friday night. Thanks!

No need it return it, I have plenty to share.

I've got TONS!! Had my Christmas eve with my family last night and spent 3 days before running around just like you!

Once they got here and we had a wonderful time, all the preparation was well worth it.

Here's my advice. Have a drink (tea, coffee, alcoholic) whichever you like best. Have a seat in a comfy chair (or bed is my favorite) watch an old Christmas movie (It's a Wonderful life is my favorite) or just Christmas music if you're tight on time.

Look out the window and remember your childhood christmas memories and relax. It only comes once a year, take a break and enjoy it.
Merry Christmas!!

OMG you sure have your hands full. Sorry to hear you have to work on Christmas especially with young children.

So here is tons of Christmas Spirit to get you through the weekend. No need to send it back. :wizard: :wizard: :cheer2: :cheer2: :wizard: :wizard:

Have great time with your family. Happy Holidays.

Oh my, you have a lot on your plate! Can you make your DH take over part of it? And make that 14 year old clean up!

Hang in there. During the bad years, I always console myself that it will soon be over.

The 14 yo must lay down now for I've given her a migraine. :rotfl:

DH is out grocery shopping & picking up KFC. You know KFC, my dream Christmas Eve dinner! :rotfl: It just doesn't feel right this year. Maybe tomorrow it will feel more Christmasy.

I'm also thinking about picking up some potato salad form Acme, brining it home & putting it in my own bowl & telling all my co-workers that I made it myself. :rotfl:

Thanks guys. I'm feeling much better now. :) Especialy after DS4 & I went outside to sprinkle feed for the reindeer. :goodvibes

I have a a ton to pass along. This is my very favorite time of the year and get so excited about it. So here you go:

I don't know what you do for a living that requires you to give up family holiday time, but thanks. I have people who have to keep the Boiler plant operating at our hospital. We have nurses and doctors who have to keep on taking care of the patients. Dietetics staff who have to make those meals. Police officers who are there to make sure nothing bad happens. Telephone operators who keep on answering the phone to send those phone calls on to the nurses or patients. I get to stay home on Sunday.

I say thanks to all of you who keep on doing your job when you'd rather be at home. Thank you.

I'm a nurse. DH works for a chemical plant that doesn't beleive in closing. I do get to work with my sister this weekend so at least I will be with family. :)

I'm feeling much jollier now. :teeth: Cookies are made. All the presents I could find are wrapped. Kids are in bed. Cookies & milk left out for santa. Once I know they are sound asleep I'll start stacking the gifts around the tree. The good thing is that DS is young enough that he doesn't know tomorrow isn't really Chrsitmas. :smooth:

Can you believe everyone is asleep but the 4yo!! :rotfl: I think he's too excited. It's all so real to him. We bought him a leap pad learning desk that he want to put together tonight. I hope he falls asleep soon. Looks like it will be a long night. :)
