We have planned an 8 night trip in May this yr, staying at Beach Club, and have 2day base tickets from free dining last yr showing on our MDE acct.

We will upgrade to Fla Res pass when we get to first park, but I just want to make sure that I can make our FP+ res for the entire trip and that when they do the upgrade I won't lose all our FP+s.

Please tell me I have this correct! TIA!

You can only book 2 days until you have added more days on your tickets. You will not lose your existing FPs when you do the upgrade.

You can only make FP+ for the number of ticket days you have. So, if you have a 2-day ticket, you can make FP+ reservations for 2 days. There shouldn't be a problem keeping your FP+'s when you upgrade -- many people on the boards have done so successfully (myself included).

So is there any way of doing this before our arrival? Other than just buying another pass and hanging onto the 2 days?

I read the sticky- that makes me think I will need to go do an overnight in Orlando and go to a park if I want it done ahead of time. Love to go, just not in the plans right now.

Also, if I do go up, can I do the upgrade but not start the pass until our May trip? We thought we might go to UA for a weekend in March so I wouldn't want to start the pass use 2 months early.

I really want to do all 9 days for best selection rather than wait until our arrival.

You must have 9 days of valid ticket entitlements to book 9 days of FP. Furthermore, annual passes are limited to 7 days if not staying onsite.

We are staying onsite at Beach club.

Can we do it anyway online or via phone?(I am thinking no)

If I go and have it done at Epcot entrance in March (we would only be stopping by for this reason , not to go to park) can the effective date on the fla res annual pass not start until our trip in May?

My understanding, others may weigh in, is that you can purchase an AP online and immediately book 7 days (or more if staying onsite longer) of FPs with it. In this case, the AP itself would not activate the 365-day countdown until you use it to enter a park. If you purchase an AP in person at WDW however, it would activate and start the countdown immediately--whether you use it to enter a park or not.

Can you get the Florida resident pass online and prove residency when picking them up?
