I get that same rate for the OP's dates using those codes .

Just a FYI, try using the same criteria, except, don't put anything into the rate code box. Often that gives you a higher rate. Let National set the rate code.

Do not use the 6600330 code anymore. Read Mary's information on Mousesavers. It was not a code that everyone was supposed to use and it has been eliminated now - you will have to pay a higher fee when you go to the rental booth.

Try 6600330 for your code. The AMEX code seems to bring some pretty hight prices these days. The 6600330 code is for anyone to use.

Since you seem to know the ins and outs of National sales, do you have an idea when they are going to be doing sales for December 6-15th?
I have thrifty booked but like the EA that national has!

That far out it is hard to tell. National seems to run the promo's in 1-2 week increments. I think the reason this latest deal is only 1 week long is because of the holiday (Columbus Day). My guess - now this is just a guess - would be your deals might come out around Thanksgiving...start checking the week before but you might not see your dates until the week of or the week after the holiday. The rates are going to be much higher over Thanksgiving, but will hopefully drop for your dates and raise again for Christmas. It's all travel trends. It appears they look at when people are going to travel most (holidays and summer) and jack the car rates up.

These are just my guesses. I've been watching car rates since February and this is kind of what I've seen.

contrary to what you say, not all 5-7 day rentals are quoted as a weekly rate

if one is to use the Amex code 5125601, they charge you a daily rate which right now is outrageous

it's amazing to me what a difference a few days makes. My daily rate (through Amex) is $22.34, picking up the car on October 5. Amex isn't the only contract code that gives me that rate, either. I can't remember what the other one is, but I saw it on Flyertalk.

there must be something going on during the time frame we put in....thus supply and demand equation has lifte the rate UPward by 3 times

perhaps the disney golf classic .....the holiday ( columbus day ) weekend is the week before on the 7/8/9th i think

the daily rate is what you state for december 2 - 9

amex seems to have what is called a "variable" rate with national which is based on a per diem whichin most instances regardless of date, time and location is 22.34$ as you stated, we used it in baltimore in august when the weekend rate was 25 but the monday rate jumped to 69, so with a free weekend day, the 3 day rate was only 44.68 plus taxes of course instead of 119 using other codes
