Let's say we have the Deluxe Dining Plan and my husband and I go to Cali Grill for dinner. I know that is 4 credits. BUT the Yoshi Sushi platter is considered and entree and you can't use it as an appetizer. But we also want a regular entree each as well. (It's a pig out night, I know :) )

Can you order 3 meals for 2 people sitting at the table? Will they take 6 credits if we did?

Would that work at other restaurants as well? Can you use 3 credit for 2 people in one sitting?

No, if there are two people on your reservation you can order only 2 meals and pay for them with the dining plan. Your key card will be imprinted with the number of persons in your party.

You could of course order an extra entree and pay cash for it - or pay cash for Yoshi's - or pick a sushi that is available as an appetizer.

You could possibly ask if Yoshi's can be ordered as an appetizer for two and share it - and have it serve as both your appetizers. DDP rules are sort of strict but I can't recall that anybody's ever asked that.

Is there a reason that you can't use the credits when you are not sharing with someone not on the plan? There are only 2 of us at the table, so no fear of cheating.

to pay out of pocket for the sushi and save the meal credits for a meal.
The sushi is really good there but you'd really be losing the value of the dining plan.

True, but what I am trying to do is avoid paying any OOP at all food wise. We have the Table in Wonderland Card for alcohol. I am just seeing IF we get the dining plan and only use it for food, will it keep up on a pre-paid budget (regardless of value)? Or is it useless to try and just scrap the whole dining plan thing?

They're trying to prevent those on the plan from sharing with those not on the plan and this was the best solution they could come up with. I doubt they would make exceptions for this rule just because someone wants an extra entree but there is no harm in asking. Just be prepared for the answer to be "no."

I don't know how they have the computers set up but it's possible they will not be able to deduct more than 4 TS credits from your account at a time for a signature meal with two people on the reservation.

If you have your heart set on Yoshi's platter plus an entree, you don't have a way around it other than to pay cash for something.

Just an opinion...There are only items of sushi that were not considered an app. One was the yoshi's sushi platter and there is another...but I forget. Dbf and I just both chose sushi as an app(both were very generous portions) and it was plenty....then we ordered entrees and desserts.
