Hi -

I got a ding for a really good price on the return portion of our trip, but when I click on the flight, it shows that the ding price is now unavailable.

Is there a possibility that another ding for that date will come along, or are dings a one-time thing (for a certain date)?

Same answer to both questions - No way to know - seats are limited and may only be one or two and go very quickly. There are known cases of multiple dings on same flights. Happens often. You usually have to act quickly - like within a few minutes of getting the ding.

DING? Sorry! Trying to find the meaning and can't see it anyplace.

DING is a southwest download that "dings" when new low fairs come in each day (or sometimes twice a day). They have been as low as $29 flights, but they aren't always that good a deal. They are very selective -- such and such a date and sometimes only certain flights. You must buy them within the few hours that they are valid.

You can absolutely get "DING'd" several times for the same dates. I noticed, however, that the first "DING" has the best price - subsequent "DINGs" seem to go up by $5 or $10.

I got dings last May that were actually higher than the rate I had booked as a sale price. weird... :confused3
Some dings are awesome and some just mediocre. Either way you must act fast or be flexible.
