Can I ask Americans?

I would love to fly over and visit our British Cousins at some point.

And you would ALL be most welcome, particularly those of a cornish origin :goodvibes ,
talking of which I do beleive Prince Charles and Camilla, Duke and Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting you all soon.

I did see some of the segments. I also saw a report on ABC (late last night) about what a big deal this in the UK and how they are really hoping that it will give a boost to tourism in the UK.

I hope that it does help boost tourism for the UK (won't be any from me as I spend enough of my company's money going back and forth to London.)

I also did see that the Duke and Duchess will be paying us a visit. I'll be anxious to see how well Camilla is recieved as we all know how much most Americans adored Diana.

Yes, hope all goes well for her, she really has been an innocent party and does get a lot of stick - especially in the UK

Yes, Charles Gibson and Claire Shipman from "Good Morning America" (or GMA) are reporting live from UK this week. I've only been able to catch brief snatches of the show, as I'm usually getting ready to leave at that time.

Yesterday, they showed the Royal Jewels, which I assume are in the Tower of London.

Today, they were showing Windor Castle, and discussing the restoration after the devastating fire of 1995. They also talked about St. George's Chapel, where Charles and Camilla were wed earlier this year. Interesting timing, as it was just announced that Charles and Camilla would be making a visit to the US later this year.

And it's just Camilla that is the "Duchess", isn't it? Charles keeps his HRH Prince of Wales title, doesn't he?

For any of my fellow American Anglophiles - you can get a daily fix by listening to BBC radio online. I've been addicted to the BBC over the web for about a year now. An increadible service that is, so far, still free. Check it out!

Haven't seen the program, but I need no encouragement to go back to the UK -- all I need is $$$ ;)

You and me both!

I haven't been to the UK since 2000. :( We're definitely going to London for the 2012 Olympics, but that's such a long time from now. I'm going to need a fix before then! :)

Yes, its confusing but he's the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cornwall, as Cornwall is no longer a seperate country (we did away with that in about the 1500's) its only a duchy, ie its actually owned by him and there are land rights, taxes etc all to do with that and Wales is a country so he gets to be a Prince of that! its a weird and wonderful life being a royal (I can guess!)

Well, I'm frantically trying to get my passport updated (I finally changed to DH's last name--it's a long story but now I need to update the old passport before I can go) so we can come over at a moment's notice. DH's mom is very ill so it won't be a pleasure trip but it's always nice to visit.
