I've got DVC on the brain! I need help to stay a member but not spend so much money on points
. Is that possible?
So we can really only afford to travel to Orlando every other year for about a week, so this year we are using 237 points. Here is my question: Should I add on a smaller contract for either 100 points or two 50-point or a 25-point and a 75-point, and then sell my currrent 150+ point contract at BCV? Is this allowed?
So let's say I can add on a 25-point contract today. I will get on the waitlist again for more points. Can I start to try and sell my larger contract once my smaller contract closes? Will DVC let me add-on a small contract to a 25-point contract if that is all I own? Here is the scenario, for example:
1. Buy add-on for 25 points
2. Get on waitlist for more points so I will eventually have 100 points
3. Sell current 150+ point contract
4. Now I own 25 points
5. Waitlist comes through and I purchase another smaller contract
6. Now I own 50-100 points
7. Continue adding on until I reach 100 points
Is there some rule about how you have to own a minimum number of points before you can add on a tiny amount of points? I want to make sure I don't mess myself up before I do this.
Thanks for your help!
Oh, I'm considering this to save money. I didn't really need the large contract when I bought it, but it was available. I would have preferred 100 points, to keep costs down. To go every other year, I would bank and borrow, and should end up still being able to stay in a 2 bedroom villa. Does this make sense?
