Was just having a wild thought(much to DH dismay), of doing disney this year over the christams period(last minute I know!!).

Is there any way it can be done cheaply?
Airfare/car
And also a good accmadation(anybody with a villa out there??!!!!:p ). Were not looking for cheap hotel room, but would rather spend less on flights and abit more on accmadation. I know this is peak period, and there arent any bargains to be had as schools will be out(19th-2nd Jan), but is there anyway we could do it cheap(er??)

Hi Jules. We got back from wdw trip no. 3 at Easter and booked straight away for Christmas. Even with that much time, we struggled to get it 'cheap'. However, like you we wanted a villa , not a cheap hotel (done that one, no thanks!) and so we contacted the couple whose villa we had at Easter and, although theirs is full at Christmas, they contacted all their friends and neighbours on their community (Indian Ridge) and we got a good deal. Suggest you have a look at their website : www.crescentvillas.com (carole & keith) and get their tel. number to see if they have any more friends with empty villas...
otherwise, I would do general searches on the web... I'd be surprised if you can't find something... you'll probably be quoted minimum £500 - £600 ish per week at Christmas New Year for a 4 bed villa with heated pool, less for smaller one. We booked flights off teletext.. I don't have the name of the company we chose handy (I'm at work), but I have found the phone number of our contact there... Jackie - 0208 3646105 - we found that even in May most of the direct flights to Orlando International or Sanford were either gone or VERY dear... we got an acceptable deal with one transfer in the US but only 2 hours on the ground (some were 8-9 hours transfer time and not much cheaper). Hope you get sorted... let us know how you go on!! Kind regards, Mike.

Thanks Mike, however the link you supplied doesnt work, takes you to some bizarre website!!!.

£500-£600 for a villa, thats way over my budget to start with LOL.

Flight prices are usually cheaper if you fly out on or after the 25/12, we flew out on Virgin last Boxing day, £925 for two adults and three children.

Why not go on the lead up to Xmas?

Flight/accommodation prices after Thanksgiving Day are at their best. All the Xmas festivities are gearing up. Theme parks are relatively empty. You get all the benefits of Xmas (save the date - 25 December) and escape the downside (crowds, cost, etc.). We've been twice at that time and loved it:)

At this time of year we are limited due to school holidays, and DH set christmas holiday period from his work, so the earliest we could go would be approx 19th dec.
What day is thanksgiving?.

Hi Jules,
Have you looked on the Bon Voyage website?
I just punched in your dates in a villa with flights with Continental and ecomomy 4 door car hire and it came out as £2600.
This is based on 2 adults & 2 kids.
No idea if they have anything left but it might be worth seeing into
Hope I have helped
Lin

Thanks giving was 22nd November last year - this year it is 27th November.

- i'd love to go for xmas but like you the other half has to work right up to xmas and then they have shut down for a week a couple of days before hand.

Good luck

The ONLY way it can be done "cheap" is with non direct flights. Travel City quoted me under 2k (2 ads 2 kids), flying out on the 18th, 2 weeks, intermediate car and insurances, 14 nights at the Sheraton World. Flights were via Atlanta outbound and Dallas return (Delta). Just not practical with 2 under 5s though. There is space on the direct Travel City Jumbo on the 20th December.....for £750 per seat (NO reduction for kids!!).

I thought I had found a bargain on the Bon Voyage site, where they quoted me £1200 for THREE ads and 2 kids BA leaving on the 19th. However these flights dont exist as when I came to book I was e-mailed and told they were long sold out (Even though THEY ARE STILL advertised on the site.

We have know decided we WONT be going at Chrstmas this year, but may book early for next years Christmas Disney Extravaganza instead!!

Good luck, but I think "Disney" "Cheap" and "Christmas" dont belong in the same sentence!!! Let me know if you DO find anything!

Last year I left it to quite last minute to book flights to Orlando for 27th December and I couldn't get anything charter and in the end had to book schedule direct with Virgin and it cost a pretty packet - the good thing about this was that I was ill and we had to cancel and because we had booked schedule I was able to cancel and get full refund up to 24 hours before departure.

The flights we got this year were cheper for me as I fly in the day after Turkey day but Paul's were 50% dearer as he flies in the 21st December to join me.

Good luck Jules - I know how much you want to go so I hope this works out for you :)
