Can discounts be applied to preferred rooms?

I'm wanting to book a preferred room at POR in April. If a discount comes out will we be able to get it or does it not apply to preferred rooms?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I just depends on what kind of rooms Disney is trying to fill. We were able to get the military discount for CR TPV next July, but that is one of the value seasons.

As the pp said, it depends on whether or not that particular room type needs to be filled. It's also best to call as soon as promos are released because certain room types do go fast, especially when they are discounted .

Depends on the discount. Yes, they have previously had discounts that applied to preferred rooms. Sometimes they don't apply, or all of them available on a discount sell out fast.

Discounts usually apply to a finite amount of rooms at any particular resort or room type within that resort, so there is the possibilty that the resort could be out of discounted preferred rooms and the ability to book them at full price would still exist.

I would like to add to that regarding POR; since the preferred rooms are all in AB; which is an occupancy of 5.

A family of 5 that gets say a discount for free dining, will be able to move into the moderates at a much lower price and a better dining plan, say if they are already booked at the values in a suite with quick service dining.

So they will pounce on them almost immediately.
