Can DD17 order from a kids menu at table service restaurants? If she does, would she be charged more? Since she usually only eats about 1/3 of her steak, I was hoping she might be able to order a steak from the kids menu at Le Cellier. Is this permitted? If so, are you charged the kids price or do they charge more because of her age?

In my experiences, everyone that's above the 9-10 year old range has to order from adult menus and be charged adult prices.

We're teachers and take my husband's band often, and even his 7th graders get charged the adult prices for meals. This has proven true on family trips as well, so I don't think that's just school/ group related.

Other people may have different experiences to share though. Good luck!

DD is 19 and because she's coming to WDW from the Mountain Time Zone, it seems like she's always on a different eating schedule than the rest of us. She has ordered from the child's menu at many WDW restaurants. They usually give a slightly larger portion and charge a bit more than the regular kids meal. It makes it harder to plan your spending but really the only way to know for sure is to explain and check with your server before ordering.

I will say that the Kids steak at Le Cellier is not all that big.My 6 yr old finished hers and she is not a big eater at all

I'm not sure about that age but I do know they don't blink when my 11 y/o orders from the kids menu. At certain places she is charged adult prices even if it's still a child's meal. I don't mind though as no one else is going to help her eat the larger meal anyway. Depending on your CM she might be able to order and pay a child price for it or she maybe have to be charged the price for an adult entree and just get the child entree. If that doesn't bother you then I don't see a problem.

My DD17 ordered kids meals a couple times, but we didn't do LeCellier so I can't speak to that one specifically. We were paying cash and not on the DDP, if that makes a difference.

She got the cheese pizza at Coral Reef and wasn't charged any extra.

Last summer, my DD 15 (at the time) ordered the steak from the kid's menu at La Cellier, and was charged the kid's price. She is petite for her age because she was a premie - but she does not look "under age 10". When we do buffets, she is charged the adult price.

Anyone of any age can order off the kids menus and you will only be charged the kids meal price. My DS15 has ordered kids meals when he's not in the mood for grown up food. Sometimes he orders an adult appetizer and a kids meal. We pay the kids meal price listed on the menu. He's not small. He's 6 ft., so there's no mistaking him for 9 yr. old. The wait staff doesn't question it. The only places you are charged based on age is at buffets and for family style all-you-can-eat meals.

I just remembered she also ordered the kids chicken terriyaki at Tokyo dining too and wasn't charged extra. (And it even came in the cute bullet train plate!)

My daughter ordered the child's size steak at Teppan Edo too - and was charged the child's price.

Except if you're on the dining plan. Then you will be charged for an adult meal credit.

I was going to ask the same question. I have a 15 DD who weighs tops 95 lbs. and 5 ft. She can't eat much. She is the reason the dining plan won't work for us. I have no problem paying the adult price for buffets. And we have never been turned down when she has asked for a kid's menu. I was sad to read that someone had been turned down in the restaurant in Italy. We really wanted to try it. C'est la vie.

My girls were 15 last time we went and they ordered from the childs menu at Cali Grill with no problems..waiter was wonderful about it:)

As long as you are not on a dining plan there is no problem. My wife, at age 50, would always order the child's filet at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary with no problem. If you are on the DDP, however, you will still be charged an adulk credit.

My 11 yr old DS and my 45 yr old sis(both are same size)and both order from the kids meal, paying oop without a problem.
