Can children stay in a stroller on the shuttle bus?

I have seen various things posted about this, when riding the shuttle from your hotel to a park, does the stroller have to be packed up and stored or can the child ride in it as they do on a public transit bus or airport shuttle?

Child must be removed from stroller and stroller folded to ride the WDW buses and trams.

On buses, the child must be removed from the stroller and the stroller folded. Children can be left in strollers on the monorail. Some boats are large enough that strollers can be rolled on with the child inside them, but others require you to remove your child from the stroller and fold it.

ughhh..I was hoping that wasn't going to be the case. With my umbrella it's no big deal but I got a Sit n Stand off Craigslist and it's a bear to fold (and weighs a ton). And my toddler will be ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I would but I know my 4 year old is going to need to rest/ride later in the day.

unfortunatly you do have to take them out and fold it.... and this can sometimes be a hassle if... say... its busy and people are trying to push you onto the bus :rotfl::rotfl:

I would try to get a lighter stroller, what about 2 small umbrella strollers to bring? Goodluck!

As an FYI, this is the Florida transit law. It's posted on most of the Disney busses. Plus, quite a few times the busses are packed, so you can be trying to fit on, standing and holding a stroller (plus juggle the kids). We stick with a lightwieght travel stroller (we actually use a Twin Maclaren - for the baby plus toddler).

Prepare yourself for a bit of hassle. Strollers have to be folded before you get on the bus with them, and for some of the boats too. There are also times where you will either need to stand, hold on to your kids and stroller, or step aside and wait for the next bus with avaialble seating.

If you don't need it around the resort, maybe think about renting a stroller. It will be an additional cost, but would save you having to hassle with a stroller on the bus. If you get a double both kids will be able to ride in it if need be.

We will absolutely need it at the airport, our flight arrives in orlando close to 10pm and I know my 4 year old will not be in her best shape but she is too big for a MacLaren, we have one (single Triumph) and she is tall for her age and over the weight limit.

We are traveling with my ILs who are both using scooters so speed isn't going to be a factor getting on/off the buses!

It's fine, after 4 1/2 years of airplane travel with 1 and then 2 kids, we are pretty used to figuring it out on the go.

I have never been to Disney with 2 kids yet, but I have been to Disney by myself with DD, when she was almost 2 and then almost 3. I took our big Graco stroller, which by NO means is light. We did just fine on the buses. I went with the attitude of just taking everything slow, and many times people offered to help. If not, I did it by myself, no biggie. I also had a diaper bag and another bag I carried. DD was a very good toddler, but she got used to getting on the bus by herself (much easier in the newer buses that are lower to the ground). She found a seat.

Hopefully at the end of this year I will be going down again with DD - who will be 5 and my DD#2, who will be 1 1/2...it will probably just be us again and I know that I can do it!

OH - YOU ARE ALL SET!! My mom uses a scooter and it will be SO EASY for you this way! They will get on the bus first, once they are on, you will get on. SO, you will always be guaranteed a seat too with the little ones, as you are the first one on! Most of the time they will let you get on the back too, so it will be easier to get the stroller on.

(Keep in mind though...that most buses only hold 2 scooters)

Since your IL's will have scooters, they and you will be loaded onto the bus first, so a seat will not be an issue. I read so many horror stories about traveling with a stroller(s) and DW and I have been taking at least one stroller for the last 6 years and except for the first couple of bus rides (learning a routine) it has not been a hassle at all. Biggest tip (for you and the people around you); always have your stroller folded and ready BEFORE you get to the front of the bus line. Our routine always goes like this, once we start getting into bus range, we empty the stroller(s) of the daily bags, fold it, DW takes l'il DD and a bag or two, I then take stroller(s) and remaining bags. Oldest DD, if sleeping has to wake up until on the bus. Once we get to the front if all seats are taken we stand off to the side and wait for an empty bus(rarely have ever had a long wait), DW and DD's will get a seat and I head straight to the back doors to stand with the stroller(s). I have just found it so much easier to stand with the stroller(s) then to try and sit and keep it out of the way. Enjoy your trip.

I highly recommend taking a smaller, lighter weight stroller if you will be using the buses. Folding & carrying a big bulky stroller onto a bus is not easy. I also recommend a baby carrier if your toddler is small enough. We use an Ergo with DD (20 months old & ~23 lbs.) That way you only need one stroller; when the 4-year-old wants to ride, you can wear the baby. It also makes it much easier on buses, no worries about trying to hold a baby & hold on yourself if there are no seats.

Thanks for the carrier suggestion, we have a backpack style carrier but my daughter hates it, pulls our hair, flails backward etc..

Ergos are great, but we are of the "Pooh" sized and I have tried them before and they just don't fit :(

Also, keep in mind that for some bus stops, the set up for guests using wheelchairs and ECVs is that those guests wait in line with everyone else and board when they get to the front of the line if there is still room to board safely.
They used to have guests with mobility devices board first, but they have recently been converting lines. This is not as safe or easy since those guests with mobility devices have to manouver around other guests. I know that a lot of people without mobility devices wrote or called Disney recently to complain about those guests boarding first. They saw it as a 'perk' rather than a way to make things faster and safer.
