Can booking a cruise as a gift qualify for Castaway Club?

As a gift, my sister and I booked my parents' very first cruise under *my* Disney account. My parents did not create their own Disney account. I basically organized this cruise for them so they would not have to worry about a thing. (I chose their Palo dining, excursions, etc) I am not sailing on this cruise and only my parents' names are on this reservation, with my dad being the primary passenger (using his birthday to retrieve the cruise reservation on disneycruiseline.com).

Since this is the first Disney cruise, I'm curious whose name(s) the Castaway Club membership will fall under. Anybody know?

The individuals that sail will become the Castaway Club members. It makes no difference who books or pays for the cruises. It is all about the number of times sailed.

Castaway Club status is given to those who complete the cruise. Until that first cruise is completed, no one on that reservation has Castaway Club status. Once the cruise is over, your parents will be Castaway Club Silver level members. It matters not who paid.
