Can banked points be used for 11 month home priority reservations?

Two part question for a new DVC member--

1- If I bank 200 points and receive my annual allotment next March of 500 points, can I use all 700 for booking 11 months in advance? How many years can banked points roll-over (any limit?)

2- Assuming the yes to #1 is yes, I have two home resorts designated. How do I break out the banked points (for 11 month priority) between the two Disney Resorts? Can I apply all 200 to either home resort for priority booking?

THanks...I could not find these answers anywhere...

1) Of course, and they expire in the year they were banked into. There is no rollover. The longest a point can last is two years.

2) Points retain their home resort NO MATTER WHAT. If you banked VB points, they can only be used eleven months out at VB, seven months out anywhere.

If you transfer points to someone and your home resort is OKW and theirs is BWV, they can't use those points for reservations eleven months out at BWV. The home resort of those points is OKW, the points NEVER LOSE THEIR HOME RESORT.

If I used 400 of my 500 2002 total points at Vero Beach and I bank the 100 unused points into 2003 I didn't use....how do I break out the 100 points for priority booking between my two home resorts, which happen to be HH (own 200) and Beach Club (own 300). Do I use proportional ownership and assign 60 points to Beach Club and 40 points to HH? I hope the question made sense...thanks again

When you make the ressie, YOU tell MS which point to use.

ie use 200 of the HH and 200 of the BCV points for a 400 point VB stay. Then the 100 points you still have are all from BCV, (300-200). Or you could use 150 and 250 what ever, but it's up to you to tell MS what you want to do. And check with them before you end the call, to make sure they used the points you wanted. They are very good, but they are human, and can make a mistake.

It's up to you to tell MS which points you want to use for a particular reservation when you have points at more than one resort.

Since you don't own points at VB, you obviously have to make your VB reservation within the 7 month window and therefore can use either HHI or BCV points for that ressie. You can tell MS which points you want to use. If you want to bank 100 BCV points, you would tell MS to use your 200 HHI points and 200 of the BCV points for the 400 point VB reservation.

As Richyams said, the points always keep their resort designation. If you want to "prorate" the banked points between the two resorts of HHI and BCV, you can do that. Just tell MS when you make the VB ressie, what you want to do.
