:confused3 I am trying to find out which is better to go to Akershus or 1900 Park Fare, has anyone been to both of these? Would like to get some kind of comparison. Which is the best place to meet the Princess's? Which one is more interactive?

We've been to both (for breakfast). 1900 Park Fare only had Cinderella (for a princess). She was joined by Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Perla, and the other mouse (I forgot her name) Akershus had Mulan, Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, and Aurora when we were there.

As far as meeting princesses, Akershus has a greater variety. Both are the same for princess/character interaction. We've been to several character meals, and the interaction is always the same. The characters make their rounds and will all make an appearance at your table. The "face" characters (ones without masks) chat with you, sign autographs, and take photos.

For food, we prefer 1900 Park Fare - it's a buffet with a much better selection for finicky eaters. Akershus has food that is brought out to you and served family style. Limited choices.

IMHO, if you want more princesses go to Akershus. If you're looking for a better meal, go to 1900 Park Fare.

Hope this helped.

We love Akershus! It's a great way to meet 5 princesses (or leading ladies). We had Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine and Mary Poppins. Last year we had Mulan and Ariel.

I've never been to 1900 for dinner - but it's some place I want to try. If you have a Cinderella-lover, it would be a good one. You will meet Cinderella, Prince Charming and the step sisters and Lady Tremaine.

We went to 1900 last year for dinner, and are going to both this year. (by the way how do you pronounce Akershus? LOL) For dinner last year at 1900 we saw Cinderella, Prince Charming the step sisters and the step mother. They were all wonderful, very in character and funny. DD had been sick that day, but really wanted to see Prince Charming and he was wonderful with her. He took her hand and swirled her around and she talked about it for months. We were the last table Cinderella came to and she talked and talked to DD. She got on her knees and looked her in the eye and they just had a little conversation. DD was very shy with the stepsisters though, and they were super funny.
Here's a few pictures

I'm leary about the food at Akershus, but my sister was just there on Thurs day and said it was fine. But I really wanted to do it for the selection of Princesses. (I can't remember all the ones she said were there)
The food at 1900 was fine. Not award winning, but good. I didn't eat as much, as I kept waiting for the characters to come and then take pictures of DD, and I was afraid I was miss it. DH went up SEVERAL times though. LOL!

We have only gone to Akershus for breakfast and the food was really good plus the interaction with the Princessess were awesome. We liked it so much the last time we went that my DH had me make ADRs for our upcoming March trip. Our girls got a beautiful picture with Belle in her golden dress as we first walked in and then when the princessess came around to our table, all of them had wonderful conversations with both our DDs. The Princessess included: Mulan, Snow White, Belle (as you came in), Jasmine, and Sleeping Beauty. They came out one right after another so we didn't miss any of them.

Do they give you a free picture at Akershus? My sister mentioned too that they got a picture brought to them while eating and it was so nice, but she never said i it was one you had to pay for or not.

the picture at Akershus is now included in the price of the meal - it didn't used to be. You get an 8x10 and four 4x6's.

Oooo, this is a hard one. We enjoyed the food at both Akershus (lunch) and 1900 PF (dinner). If you want princesses Akershus...if you want a "show" 1900 PF because the step mother and sisters really play it up with you and each other.

It is a both for our trips, whereas we can skip CRT and not miss out.

We have been to both and love them equally, but for different reasons.

Akershus has a variety of princesses. The first time we went for lunch we had photo with Ariel, then Mulan, Alice, Jasmine were walking amongst the tables. Great character interaction.

Second time at Akershus (photo is now included!) we had photo with Belle in ball gown, and Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, and Alice visiting tables. Again, great character interaction. The food is ordered from a limited menu, with a cold buffet included. Food is just okay.

Just had dinner at 1900PF in November. Characters are always Cinderella and Prince Charming, Stepmother and Stepsisters (although Stepmother not there the night we were there.... ). Very good buffet, and I'm so not a buffet person. Large variety and the food was all hot and tasty.

The character interaction is GREAT here - the stepsisters were hilarious! I'm sure the stepmother would have been great too, as I've heard from others. This is a more entertaining meal, and my daughter loved the idea of meeting a "real prince!"

Ok, I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but we hated Akershus when we went back in October. We went about 4 years ago and then the entres were all u can eat. Now you just get one serving and the portion size was tiny. Also, the cold bar didn't have as much on this last time as it had before. We were completely disapointed. We love 1900 Park Fare though.

While I have never been to 1900 Park Fare, I can give my opinion about Akershus. We had dinner there on our 09/08 trip, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't my favorite food, but we were there for the princesses - in that respect, it was outstanding. When we entered the restaraunt, my daughter had her pic taken w/Belle in her ball gown. Shortly after our entrees arrived the princesses started coming by. We saw Ariel (in ball gown), Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, and to our surprise, Cinderella! Ariel is my daughter's favorite princess, and my daughter just glowed when she came to our table. I was very pleased when they came by with the pictures (free of charge)....they were beautiful!

I've heard great things about 1900 Park Fare as well, I guess it just depends on the type of experience you're looking for. We are hoping to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare durimg our upcoming trip (09/09). I was very glad we tried Akershus, it was a great experience. Have a great trip!

the picture at Akershus is now included in the price of the meal - it didn't used to be. You get an 8x10 and four 4x6's.

OK, I kind of thought that. And it is still one credit on the dining plan, correct?

What were your favorite foods served at Akershus?

Akershus is 1 TS credit on the dining plan.

We've only had breakfast there. The have a "cold" buffet of pastries, fruit, cheese and smoked salmon. Then they bring plates of hot food to your table family-style - eggs, bacon, sausage and a potato casserole to die for!

We went to 1900 10/05. Food was great. Cinderella came by 3 times! DD loved Prince Charming and the Mice.

Did Akurshus 11/08. First off crazy line outside waiting to hear name called. Then stood another line to get pic taken with Belle. Food was ok. Princesses flew by barely enough time to snap a pic. Then when Belle pics came my DD was looking in opposite direction- she was leaning over. Truly horrible pic- even for free I told them to just keep it.

Based on my experience - I would go to 1900 in a heart beat and skip Akurshus.

We love Akurshus and it's a regular on our itineraries. You can't beat the princess interacton. We always do the breakfast, since we have picky eaters who probably won't go for the lunch/dinner fare.

I've heard great things about 1900 Park Fare, but we haven't been there yet. We just booked the dinner as one of our ADRs this spring.

We did both last trip for dinner. Akershus wins hands down. Get to see a great variety of princesses and the photo package is included (photo in my signature is from the package). We really enjoyed our meal (and my DH isn't an adventurous eater).

1900 is worth doing once because of the unique character mix there, but it is very loud and your experience can vary depending on where you are seated. Food was very average buffet fare. Not one person in our party though it was very good.

We are going back to Akershus this year, but since we have already experienced 1900, we will not be repeating there.

We loved Akershus last year. In fact, when we decided to go again this year my daughter who is very picky was really excited to go there and eat the salami (which we thought was so funny). When we went, our group went with the moms, grandmas, and little girls and the guys and boys went out for something else. I think that was great as it seemed to be a bit on the "girly" side. This yr we're going to all go since we're going to do the dining plan.

Overall, I'd highly recommend it as it was my little girl's favorite thing we did all week. It was worth the money. I also like that you meet many of the princesses instead of just one. They have good food for little picky eaters as well! Also remember, it beats waiting in line to meet princesses and you get much more interaction with them this way (almost too much as you nearly don't get time to eat). Also, the wait staff was very kind & made the day very special.

Does it seem crazy for us to do BOTH dinners in one trip? Has anyone done that? Our four year old is princess-crazy, and I'm (a total newbie!) not sure how much she would get to see of them in the park.
