Can anyone tell me about the tree lighting ceromonies?

Never heard of these - I have read posts with references to "tree lighting ceromonies" but they gave no details... Can anybody provide a short descripion with a few details - where - when? Thanks

All the tree lighting ceremonies have music and a short show to go with the evening light up. We were told to be at the hub where the tree is in MK around 4:30 for the kids to be chosen for the lighting ceremony, but we didn't make it in time. Those kids are up top with all the characters. (I know, I know, how could we be late???)

Last year the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Epcot was fantastic! It was held on a high stage, just at the entrance to WS and lasted about 15 minutes or so. Several Characters come on with dancers & singers. It is simple but sooo cute. I liked it much more than I expected to, even got a little choked up!

Does each park have it's own lighting ceremony? Is there a set time for each one? Is it done every night?
