Can anyone tell me about 5 stars vacations?

My sister called in on a radio show promotion in which they were giving away a package of 4 days 3 nights for 4 people at an Orlando hotel, plus two tickets to Universal Studios. The only thing she was to pay for were the taxes.

So we get the brochure today. In the small print it says that one is required to go on a guided tour wich will take "either a morning or an afternoon" . If you don't take the tour, your credit card will be charged for the full amount of the package!

What's up with that? Has anyone traveled under these conditions? What kind of tour is it? I'm afraid they will find a way to charge her for the whole deal.

When she called in, the only requirement for her was to pay the taxes. No tour was mentioned. Why?

most likely it is a timeshare and they will try to sell you... sometimes it is a "hard sell" and other times you get off easy... i'd say that for an all expense paid vacation, it will be a hard sell... typically they pre-qualify you before you get the deal to be sure you can afford a timeshare...

some people don't mind and are good at saying no... others are very uncomfortable w/the whole gig... whatever works for you/your sis!

Yes, It looks like it is one of those timeshare deals.... I don't know what to do. We really want to go, but the timeshare pitch sounds intimidating.

Choices, choices.....never been good at making decisions, lol.

you might want to go over to the community board or the orlando hotel/resort board and ask if anyone has ever done a timeshare presentation w/this particular company to find out how "hard" a sell they are...
