Can anyone tell me where I can get a great meal? I'm willing to spend $15-20 (per person) for lunch & $25-30pp for dinner?

Where are you planning to stay? There are many great places to eat at the resorts and the parks. A lot would depend on the type of food you are after -- whether you want a buffet - or served meal --whether it be character dining or not -- tons of options. Here are our favorites:

1) Park Place 1900- GF - Primarily breakfast (though)
2) Cape May - BC - Dinner
3) Liberty Tree Tavern - MK - lunch (serve - no character/dinner character all you can eat)
4) Ohana's - Poly (breakfast and dinner)

We like Columbia House in MK for fast food ... and Cosmic Ray's is fun to do for a quick bite. We also like Pizza Planet at MGM for a quick bite.

Prime Time cafe at MGM has been good, at times, also. And, Whispering Canyon at WL - lunch and dinner fits the price range you are asking about. Perhaps with a few more details we could help more.

Great info! Thanks! Character dining is not important since it will just be the husband and I. We love all types of food and we are up for anything. Eating habits: we eat a big lunch and have a lite dinner. (In fact, we usually end up ordering one big entree for dinner and halfing it between us.) Can you split dinners like this at WDW?

You might want to consider eating a late breakfast (brunch) and then an early dinner. The breakfast price is often less expensive than the lunch/dinner prices (especially at buffets). Some restaurants charge a "split" charge but I can't remember exactly who does it now.

I would not discount character meals. We really enjoyed them when we were without kids at WDW (8 trips). We found that the variety was nice as my DH and I often didn't agree on cuisine. I love the bread pudding at the GF Park Fare (or I should say the vanilla sauce) and we go back there each year at least once for breakfast. It is fun to watch the characters interact there as several of them are "real people" characters -- madd hatter, alice in wonderland, mary poppins, etc. We also really enjoy Cape May at the BC for breakfast .... they have Chip/Dale, Goofy and Minnie .. the food is pretty good, also. The one place we didn't care for was Sci Fi Dinner in MGm - tried it several times and the food was just not that great although the atmosphere is fun. Others have a different opinion, though.

Of course, Epcot has lots of places. One of my DH favorites is the German All You Can Eat Buffet. The entertainment is also fun. We didn't care for the Mexican sit down, though. Just wasn't really authentic Mexican for us. But, we did like Norway for dinner -- it was tasty and very different.

The Boardwalk Inn also has several interesting places to dine including Spoodles. ESPN club is similar to other so if you have been to one this may not be a good place to go.

Lunch - Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. After lunch, you can go out back and watch the geyser go off. :)

Dinner - 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Lots of kids all hyped up, but an excellent buffet. My favorite buffet for dinner.

I agree about PF being the best buffet at WDW (of the ones we've done) but depending on when you are going, it may not be open, as buffet. :confused3 It closed on July 9th, and is being relocated until Sept 29th. Here's the news from allearsnet.com

1900 Park Fare will close for rehab July 9 through September 29, 2007. During 1900 Park Fare's closure, the Grand Floridian Cafe will offer a pre-plated character breakfast and dinner, "Supercalifragilistic Breakfast", "Cinderella's Gala Feast", and the "Wonderland Tea Party". Also during that time, Citricos, upstairs at the Grand Floridian, will be open for breakfast and lunch with a menu similar to the cafe's. Citricos will also resume dinner seven days a week. (It is currently closed Monday and Tuesday.)

I can recommend Kona at Poly. It's very good and a must do for us, for dinner, once, or twice, a trip! :goodvibes

Kona Cafe (Poly) and Whispering Canyon (WL) are our faves at the resorts. If you'll be in the MK, Liberty Tree Tavern is also really good!

What about Wolfgang Puck (quick service)....that was an excellent meal, we sat outside and got to "people watch". pirate:

boma gets my vote, you may get time to see the animals as well as a lovely meal :)

My favorite resort restaurant by far is the Wispering Canyon Cafe. In my opinion, it's a great place to go on a first night, it always helps me to relax some and cool down from travel.

Our favorite lunch spots are Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona Cafe. Both are good dinner spots too in your price range. Until around Oct. 1 GF Cafe is not serving its regular menu but instead is a character meal at breakfast and dinner. Citricos upstairs in the GF will be serving a typical GF Cafe menu during this time apparently but only for lunch. Dinner will be typical Citricos with higher prices.

Beach and Cream is a burger and ice cream shop...good, busy and loud. But YCGalley not far away has a broader menu, is quiet and very pleasant. I haven't had dinner there but it might be a good choice too.

If you will have a car and being from FL I suppose you will, there is a very pleasant restaurant called the Sand Trap. It's located in the Bonnett Creek Golf Club near Fort Wilderness. It only serves until 5pm and offers sandwiches and salads.
