Haven't been to USO in a while but with the free Citywalk parking after 6pm we're thinking about heading over there one night of our Disney vacation. Can we take the boats to the hotels from Citywalk or are they just for hotels guests? We stayed at the Hard Rock once but it was back when there were only two hotels and I really don't remember it that well. Since we're going all the way over there from WDW, we'd like to make an evening of it.

I've only seen the boats listed as perks staying onsite at one of their hotels. I don't know if they are strict about that or ask to see room keys (we've always stayed onsite) Maybe someone else will know if it's an issue or not (although HRH and RPH are very close to the parks) HRH is closer to Studios and Royal Pacific is close to IoA, on the same side of the water as CityWalk.

We were just there and stayed at HRH. Nobody ever asked us to see proof we were staying at the resort. I don't know why you couldn't get on one if you wanted.

Same here. Just blend in with the others and no one will ever 'card' you on the water taxis. And even if they did, the walk between CW and HRH is not bad at all.

I use to stay at RPR and only was asked once which hotel I was going, to but I was really drunk so it was probably more to make sure I was going to the right place :tiptoe:. If you were ever worried about it you can always say you're going to a restaurant/bar at whichever hotel that way you wouldn't need a keycard.

Yep, we did several times, as I have a AP that gives free parking in the garage, so when we are not staying at one of the 3 onsite hotels, we go for a movie or golf, then eat at one of the hotel's restaurants. Never asked, just get in line, and enjoy. We've also parked and taken the boat for breakfast at the hotels too.

I had heard that at night, after HHN, they were asking for hotel ID.

If you are just going for a boat ride be prepared, they will make you disembark if there is a long line when you pull into port.

We have never been asked - but I've never done HHN either. The parks were so crowded when I went on December 30th that I left to go check out a couple of the hotels that I hadn't been to. (We weren't staying at any of the hotels).

they absolutely do.

have been doing hhn for years and the same signs are up at the city walk boat dock each night hhn is happening.

sign states that at midnight, all people using the water taxis must show their hotel room key.
if you don't have it, you are not allowed on the boats.

you have to walk to your hotel if you don't have the room key to show.

the water taxis are open to all.
many peeps eat at the hotels and are not staying there.
