Can anyone recommend a nice town to stop over in going I-95 back to NJ after our time in Orlando. Im not too familiar with some of the towns although i have heard of them.

The first day we arent looking to drive long at all just looking for a nice stopover which can be an hour or two or three, etc...from Orlando in Florida but would like pretty much on our way home going 95N.

I have heard about St. Augustine or Savannah GA but not sure if they are worth stopping there or there are any other better places to go. I have 3 kids ages 4, 7, and 17. Im not much into the historic or museum type stuff. We have also been to Myrtle Beach before but looking for somewhere different to stop. Im starting to plan where to stay for the additional days we have traveling.

St Augustine's beach is SO SO nice. I never took in any of the historical things as we were vacationing without kids so we mostly took in beer & liquor but there's a lot of shopping in the town part and then the beach is pretty well a beach and that's it. A few restaurants but definitely not like MB is. NICE. Lovely. Another option is Jacksonville, which is about another hour from St. Augustine. But personally I'd do St. Aug. LOVE it there.

Let's see...what else is on 95? Hilton Head Island? Raleigh, NC? Richmond, VA? Any of those sound appealing?

We live just outside of West Philadelphia and have done the drive 2 times with a then 3 and 5 year old (boys). The worst part of the drive is between Philadelphia (or NJ) ie 95s until you past Richmond VA. DC area is really confusing on the way back becasue the signs for 95 are a little sketchy as you go around DC. Other than that its a strait shot down and back. We try to drive it and only stop to sleep and have been to Fayetville NC (Hampton Inns have worked out well for us under $100 per night with breakfast) and also in Myrtle Beach(I think). Depending on how long you want to spend driving, stopping anywhere along 95 seems like the same (ie not interesting). We use our GPS and decide along the way since we can find restaraunts or hotels within 25 miles or so of our location while driving...it make it a little more like and adventure...the kids got a kick out of it. If you find somewhere interesing in your journey post it back I hope to do the drive again this summer!

Have a great trip!
Tim
