Can anyone recommend a Disney Miniature Golf Park?

Is one better than the others for little children (5,8)? Are they worth the time? Any opinions are appreciated. Ann

I played the fantasia minigolf place.....pretty good, great for families.

We liked Fantasia golf, too. I have heard the Winter/Summer golf near Blizzard Beach is fun.

Are there two different courses at Fantasia? If so, is one considerably more/less crowded? Is this where there's some par three-type course that DS heard about?

We have played at Winter/Summerland. They have 2 courses there. The theme is very cute-Santa and elves on vacation at the beach for the summer side and all snow on the winter side. We have never played at Fantasia. I have heard it is a more difficult course.

Ashley:
For young kids Winter/Summerland is probably better. For one thing it dosen't have those holes where you have to hit the ball up a hill--where many small children haven't the "power" to do so. I stood by at one hole at fantasia gardens and watched a small child try over 30 times to get the ball up the hill. Never did--and it created a huge backup on the course. His parents thought it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen. But standing in the 90+degree sun, I wasn't laughing too hard--.
Also-the theme at W/S has more traditional Disney characters. Many small kids have no idea what Fantasia is even about.

Simba's Mom:
There is a second course at Fantasia which sort of "mirrors" a true golf course. When it opened, it was terribly difficult. It's since been modified, and when we did it in Oct. it was good fun. It is still "harder" than the traditional mini golf and also less crowded.
Wouldn't recommend it for very young children tho--

uncleromulus,
Thanks so much! Your information was very helpful!

hi: have to agree that the winter/summer courses at bb are better for young kids. we've done all the courses w/ teenagers and had a lot of fun. mom rules-kids drool! i'm not a great golfer but have beaten them every time- especially when they get too worked up about it.

We love Winterland/Summerland.
And have found it to be a bit less crowded.

I'd love to try one of these courses on our trip. How much does it cost?

Does the miniature golf have to be reserved ahead of time? Do they even take "tee times" or is it first come first served?

Thank you.

Paul

As of the last time we played mini-golf at WDW no advance reservations were needed. I can't remember prices, sorry.
For a while they had a discount for DVC or Disney Club, I cant remember that either. Wow - I am not much help at all ;)

hi: they also had a 50% discount for ap holders last year. i think it cost around $ 20 for 4 of us to play.

My DW and I played a round at the Fairways last week. That is the mini-golf course that resembles a real golf course: grass fairways, sand traps, etc. It was fun even though we are not golfers. There was one hole that was torn up so only 17 holes were available. I wouldn't recommend this course for kids. However, the other two regular mini-golf courses (Winterland/Summerland, I think) looked pretty neat. I think we paid $10 each to play. Getting there without a rental car was a bit of a hassle. We had to take a Swan/Dolphin/BC/YC/BW bus to the Swan and then walk over to the courses. To get back, we ended up going to DTD and catching the bus back to POFQ.

Don't believe they take reservations, etc. At least they never did all the times we palyed.
We've had the best results at the very hottest time of the day--just like in real golf, when nobody feels much like playing!!
Sometimes at Fantasia, we'll arrive about 15 minutes before it opens. We're often the first (tho not always) on the course, and that certainly makes for a better, more relaxed game.
Been several times when we drove over to play and saw long lines--just went elsewhere.

BTW--tho not Disney, there is a miniature golf course at Pirates Cove, in the WDW Hotel Plaza area. It's an option if the Disney spots are full, or if you're looking for something different--.

MiJo, Fairways sounds like the place my son said he wanted to play (didn't know the name)-one of his buddies at college was raving about it. Is it at Fantasia Gardens? What time of day did you go? Is it ever very crowded, and if so when?

We love Fantasia! We play each and every trip. We did the Winter Summerland once and it's okay - but Fantasia is more magical. I think kids would like either one just fine.

We have done Fantasia Gardens and the Fairways. I thought for a miniature golf course Fantasia Gardens was pretty difficult. I would not recommend taking little ones there. I have a 2 1/2 yoa dd and I would not take her there. The Fairways is a "chip and putt" and is much more for the adults. It is a lot harder than traditional miniature golf.

We would like to try Winterland golf, but I am wondering how you get there from Coronado Springs?

I think that Winter/Summerland is better for children and adults. We have played them all and frankly we were bored with Fantasia by the third hole.:bounce:
