Can anyone recommend a cheap way to call a US landline from UK?

I want to call America from a Uk landline, I don't have skpe or anything similar.

There are loads of companies to dial first from your UK landline but Id prefer to use a reputable company thats been used before!

Otherwise i will end up calling some scam number that costs me £100 a second and a million £ connection fee!

I don't have a cheap way of calling the UK from the US as we used our IPads last time when they were connected to wifi and we also bought calling cards x
