Can Anyone In Mass , Now Smell The Smoke?

or is it just me? I just looked out my window, was going to hit the pool, but I now see this...what I thought was a mist/fog type thing. I went outside and all I smell is SMOKE! I am on the North Shore area not far from NH! Is it me, or can you smell it too? Being I have asthma , I have now shut all windows and turning on AC!!

I doubt it's just you. We are up here in Maine and sice yesterday mud morning the smoke has been horrible,. So hazy and smelly. There was an alert on the weather channel that it is smoke from a wildfire in Quebec. The wind shifted slightly for a bit last night but this morning it is back. Between the smoke and the pollen it's been miserable to be outside

thanks...yah, I just saw it on the news, being I am near the coast, that is why I am seeing bad now! Hopefully the SW wind will hurry up and change the direction of the smoke!!!

It's smokey all the way to Cape Cod. Between the pine pollen and the smoke the windows will be staying closed all day!

SMOKE FROM A NUMBER OF LARGE FIRES IN SOUTHERN QUEBEC HAS BEGUN TO MOVE OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NEW HAMPSHIRE... AS WELL AS EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. THE THICKEST SMOKE WAS FOUND OVER THE OUTER CAPE AT 830 AM. VISIBILITIES WERE REPORTED TO BE LESS THAN 2 MILES AT THE CHATHAM AIRPORT.

SMOKE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE TOWARDS THE EAST COAST WITH A NORTH TO NORTHEAST WIND AND WILL LIKELY EFFECT MUCH OF EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS DURING THE LATE MORNING HOURS. ANOTHER PLUME OF LIGHTER SMOKE WILL FILTER DOWN FROM SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE INTO WORCESTER AND MIDDLESEX COUNTIES IN NORTHERN MASSACHUSETTS. BASED ON CURRENT SATELLITE PICTURES THE DENSEST SMOKE WILL LIKELY MOVE OVER EASTERN PLYMOUTH COUNTY AS WELL AS CAPE COD AND NANTUCKET.

SURFACE WINDS WILL SLOWLY BACK TO A WEST TO SOUTHWEST DIRECTION WHICH WILL PUSH THE SMOKE BACK OUT TO SEA. "

Wow, that's quite far. I can smell it, but I'm in Upstate NY right next to the border. It really stinks though, I had to march in a parade today and it's all you can smell.

I've been smelling smoke for the last few hours. Kind of amazed it could travel that far.

Yikes, smelling fires and seeing smoke all the way from Canada.

My family is all in southern Maine on the coast for the summer ... I spoke to all of them yesterday as they were bbq-ing in the lovely weather ... no one mentioned smoke at all ... how odd it would travel soooo far like that done to MA.

That's terrible. I had no idea, must be some pretty awful fires to have the smoke drift so far. I hope everyone stays safe.

I'm noticing it now, too - and it was a quick change! I was out earlier for a Memorial Day parade, and everything seemd normal. Just a little while ago, I went outside for something else, and it was hazy and I could smell it.

All clear in Newport but my friends in southeastern mass are talking about it on facebook.
National weather service said with a wind shift tonight it will be brought off shore by tomorrow morning.

DH and I went for a walk at around noon time and it was beautiful out; after our walk we went for an iced coffee and then drove a few towns over to visit his father. In that short of a time span of stopping for coffee, the huge smokey haze hit this area. We're on the south shore, in the Bridgewater area.

OM gosh! I live not far from Rt 95, in fact I can see up the highway, I just had to run to the store...I turned to get on the highway, I could not even see the next town over!!!! Now I am in Mass!! Topsfield line....I feel awful for everyone in Canada!!! I did see where everyone was evacuated...but still...
