We are going to DL and southern Cali in May. We have shopped around for rates and the City Pass seems to be the best route for our family since we plan on attending all these parks during our stuff.

Problem is, the City Pass only gives you a 3 day park hopper for DL and we want 4 days. We have looked into purchasing another day at DL, but that is easily going to be well over $250 for one added day of fun.

What is the best way to get the following tickets:
~4 day park hopper for DL
~Sea World(day pass)
~Universal Studios(day pass)
~San Diego/Wild Animal Park(day pass)

TIA!

You can easily upgrade the DLR portion of the City Pass to a 4-day hopper. You can do that at any ticket or guest services window. I don't know the exact cost of the upgrade. I'm sure someone else will chime in with that info.

I didn't know that this was an option. I will be booking my trip through Alaska Airlines. They should be able to upgrade correct??

I see those at Costco. Have you checked out what Costco offers?

Does "they" mean the ticket, or Alaska?

You'll just upgrade at the park, no need to involve Alaska. You could also upgrade those hoppers to annual passports, if you wanted to. :) For just a day or for APs :upsidedow , I believe they just apply the face value of those hoppers to the cost of what you're upgrading to. I *think* that the value of those 3 day hoppers is the cost of pre-purchasing them from Disney.

Thank you everyone! This is our first family trip together to DL so I'm full of questions.
Thank you for the suggestion to look at Costco, looks like we will save $88 for the City Pass purchasing through Costco.
My next question is, what is going to be my cost to upgrade to the 4 day park hopper?? I'm not sure how they break up City Passes. Is there someone I can call to get this information??

Called Disney and the price to upgrade from a 3 day to a 4 day PH is an additional $25/PP. Yeah!

Are you sure you can use the City Pass at both the Zoo and WAP? I thought it was one or the other...

Don't know if that was an issue for her, but you are correct, it specifically states you must choose one.

"Experience a whole lot of fun under the Southern California sun and save 25% off main entrance prices! One low price gets you admission to five awesome attractions: Universal Studios HollywoodSM, SeaWorld® Adventure Park, your choice of the World-Famous San Diego Zoo® or the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park® and of course, a 3-Day Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Bonus Ticket for Disneyland® Park and Disney's California Adventure® Park. Plus you receive an early entry admission to a designated Disneyland® Resort Theme Park."

We just got back from our So. Calif Trip & we too wanted 4 days at DL. We went to a ticket booth & the cost was $15 a day for adults & kids. Yes, it only cost us an additional $15 per person to upgrade from a 3 day pass (Southern California City Pass) to a 4 day pass.

We had 2 adults & 1 kid (age 7) and it only cost us $45 for 1 more day for all 3 of us.

We too were pleasently suprised!

Have fun!

Thank you so much for this info!! Did you go in 2008?? I was told $25, but like $15 better :cool1: !

No, it was December of 07, but before my trip I was also told it was $25, but found different when we got there. I was also told that it would be the difference from what we paid for the CityPass (since it is already discounted) to a 4 day - which I was afraid was going to be 30ish more a person, but wasn't. I was really polite to the lady at the ticket booth & just said we wanted to make it 4 days, but how do we do that & how much will it cost, etc.

She said let me convert your city pass into DL ticket card & we will go from there. Then she looked it up & said it would be $15 per person & I stayed cool & said -"wow, that is really reasonable". So, I don't know if I got a really nice, helpful employee, or if that is the norm, but I was very pleased.

Wow, that is great. I'm already happy with $25/day extra so I would just be even more happy to have it be $15/day pp. Thank you again for this info! I have to wait until May for our trip :scared: !

What number did you call for this info?? My family and I wanted to do 4 days too, but we were just going to suck it up and do 3 since we would be saving so much $$ with the city pass (costco def. has the best deal around!) I had no idea that upgrading was even an option, so thanks for starting this thread!!
Katie

Katie, I called the number on DL website. The number is 714--781-4400. They were very helpful and I didn't know upgrading was an option until I started this thread today, so I'm pretty pumped too!
