My daughter in law signed up and was confirmed to meet to do clean up at a park on April 17th along with her 3 children. They got to the park about 10 min early and no one was around so she waited awhile then called. The women said they had cancelled it for that day and would be rescheduling and would e-mail the new time/date.
(the park was a mess so they did some clean up since they were there anyway since they were there and had gotten up early)
She still hasnt gotten new date & time and has sent 2 emails with no response. She is going to try and reach her again on Monday by phone.
She is hoping there is just a reasonable explanation but doesnt know if there is anyone else she could contact if they end of not responding at all. She was signed up before the promotion ended so she was still eligible for it.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is not a Disney interaction situation, I'm afraid.

It would be a local communication and scheduling issue between the civic organization and the volunteer parties involved.

I was thinking the same. Can she contact the local organization that was hosting the clean up event since the project leader has been unresponsive?

I've moved this thread to the Promotions and Celebrations board. :)

If a participating organization cancels the volunteer activity, they are supposed to contact the volunteers within five days and the volunteer activity needs to be completed within 30 days of the initial date. That doesn't give your daughter-in-law a lot of time. If I were her, I'd contact the organization directly and see if they are rescheduling. She will be out of luck if they choose not to reschedule the activity.

From the GAD FAQs:

If the organization that I have committed to volunteer with on this website cancels my volunteer opportunity, will I still be able to serve and be eligible for the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." program?

If the organization cancels your opportunity, they should contact you within 5 days to propose a new date and time for you to volunteer with that organization. If you are unable to commit to a rescheduled date and time and complete your service within 30 days of your originally scheduled date, you will no longer be eligible to participate in the program.

Thanks for all the information
She finally spoke with the women who promised she would get an e-mail with the new time/date either today or tomorrow so hopefully she will
