My nephew is leaving in a month to study for a semester abroad in Manchester. He will be away for Christmas (shudder, I know, it's ages away...) and I would like to send him money, since he will be a poverty stricken student.

What is the current rate of exhange, dollars to pounds?

Well I think we are currently getting about $1.40 - $1.50 for each £1 but I don't know if this helps you much.
