My nephew is leaving in a month to study for a semester abroad in Manchester. He will be away for Christmas (shudder, I know, it's ages away...) and I would like to send him money, since he will be a poverty stricken student. ;)

What is the current rate of exhange, dollars to pounds?

TIA everyone.

Debbie

Well I think we are currently getting about $1.40 - $1.50 for each £1 but I don't know if this helps you much.

Great exchange rate for you- BAD for me!! We are coming over to visit next March/April and it seems I will be about 1/2 as rich there as I am here- LOL

I could make things worse for you by saying you will find things more expensive over here as well, but I won't.

I won't mention the 17.5% tax thats included on everything either - don't want to put you off :)

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

That's one Christmas gift I can cross off.

Debbie

Are you all trying to sweet talk me! LOL
Regardless - it will be a trip of a lifetime- my DD-10 (but will be 11 by then. me- 34, and my Mum- who is ageless! I have no doubt that we will have a ball
