Ok we've been to disney a lot but have always stayed off site at Fairfield resorts, well this time we are going all disney, room, hotel tickets ect... well we fell in love with the P&PP last year and HAVE to do it again this year, we didn't think we could pull the funds but we can... so here we are...

but we still can't decided if we should get the dinning plan too. our kids are 7,5 (who eats like a bird), and 3 .... so we will all have tickets. are there any resturants that are excluded from the packages??? Do you need to make reservations??? I'm so lost ....

thanks!!!

For table service (TS) you will need reservations (ADRs) whether on the plan or not. I think pretty much all of the restaurants participate with the exception of Japan and Italy, and that may change. If you go onto the official Disney site and go to dining finder (top right) that page has a link for the DDP. It's $37.99/adult and $9.99/child 9 & under per day. Everyone in the room must participate. For that you get one TS, 1 CS/quick meal and 1 snack credit per day per person. Kids must order from the kids meal if ther is one available. We are trying it for the first time in January. Oh yeah, tips are not included in 2008

If you are planning on one table service (TS) meal per day, it is worth it, esp. with the children. The prices for most of the children's buffets are over $11, and the 2008 DDP for children is $10 per day. So, even before snack and the counter service meal (CS), you come out ahead.

I made a spreadsheet of the places that we wanted to eat and crunched the numbers using prices from the menus at allears.net, including taxes. I would make sure that you factor in whether or not you would actually order a dessert (I would, but DH would not). I even removed one of the restaurants that I could have skipped (since we ate there last time), and we still came out ahead. Again, it was because of the prices of children's buffets vs. the 2008 DDP per day price for children.

Make a list of your restaurants and make ADRs now. You can always cancel them if you decide against the DDP.

Have a great trip!
