My son is interested in exchanging points next year in the Caymans. Can anyone provide information about any of the choices? We like really nice on the beach places. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would reccomend looking at the choices and then going to TUG to look up what users say about each of the available resorts. THat is what we did for a Hawaii exchange.

Here's the link to TUG's home page:

Registration to read the bulletin boards is free. But to access the resort reviews and independent ratings, one must be a member of TUG. It's $15 for the first year, including a free ad on their classifieds section. There are also Direct Exchange listings where you can see if there are owners at the resort(s) that interest you, willing to do an owner exchange for your DVC. Hope that helps. :)

For those that just wan the info. The only 2 resorts on the list at present are Plantation Village and the Royal Reef. I suspect the Grand Caymanian will be added if it hasn't already. All three of these should be fine resorts but will vary in location, need for a car and somewhat in quaility. The Royal should be the nicest resort but I hear it is more isolated.

I'd certainly second checking out TUG and joining if you want more info. If you join, give either dianeschlicht or Lisa P. the referal as they're the ones that sent you that way. Good luck.

The Royal Reef is the nicest II resort on Grand Cayman. It is part of the Royal Resort Group of Cancun. As Dean mentioned, it is 23 miles from the airport on the east end. The Royals have a website (don't remember the URL), but you can find it on the TUG site at:
The TUG reviews will give you info on the resort.
I understand the restaurant is very good.
