I have a DS7. I DO NOT understand him. He thinks bodily functions are the most hysterical of all God's creations. He and his friends have (Insert bodily function here) Contests! He worships dirt and bugs. He tries to do somersaults in the supermarket. He'll spin around in a circle until he gets dizzy and falls over...then he'll do it again! He goes and goes and goes all day long! Luckily, he's well-behaved and gets great grades in school, so I know he knows when it's appropriate to pull himself together. I was an only child, never had any little boys around, and I JUST DON"T GET HIM! Is it the testosterone?

I was blessed with 3 D's. They are 22, 21 and 11. Believe me you will NEVER understand them. Unfortunately they really do not grow out of this phase very fast. I swear the more it annoys you the more they do it. Boys just have a very sick sense of humor and it does not help that DH laughs and seems to understand them just fine! I really think their whole goal (from birth through preteens) is to totally embarass you in public.

I think our DS summed it up well once when he was 16. He was giving us a bad time about going along to a family function. He, of course, did not want to go. During the "discussion", his phone rang. He picked it up and said, "I can't talk right now. I'm too busy being an A**hole!" That, of course, made us all laugh, and the argument was broken. He went with us!;)

MY only ds9 is the same way. Although he is well behaved(sometimes);) he is FULL of energy. He is in Karate and basketball. Not a day goes by when he is not performing a spinning kick or turning flips. Let me not forget to say doing backflips on his bed  He is just plain ACTIVE AND ENERGETIC. He has lots and I do mean LOTS of energy. I'm 99percent positive your little one is fine:) My little man still amazes my dh and I:) BTW, my dd13 is just as ACTIVE and energetic. I Thank God everyday for this, because they weren't active and energetic than I know something would be wrong.

I have 2 sons and a daughter. I swear, the boys never stop moving, if they do, I know they're sick. LOL It's just a boy thing.

Our DS is almost 22 & still thinks bodily functions are hysterical. All of his male friends over the years were the same way - some would try to be polite when I was in the room, but when they were alone . . . ;)

The best (???) part is that his sister (DD) worships him & tries to be just like him. Last night at dinner (DS's fiance was here) after a particularly resonant belch from DD, DS gave her a high-five & said "You're totally awesome!"

Having grown up with 2 sisters & no brothers, I wasn't expecting this either. However, he's such a cute, loving kid that I just learned to laugh. (DH is another story:rolleyes: )

Ah yes bugs!! It's a boy thing!!

I'll never forget once at summer camp DS wanted to bring home a cup filled with worms. No dirt, just worms. I was just about to say okay when one started to climb out.

I talked him into leaving them in the woods with their friends and family.

When my DS's are bouncing off the walls like that, and enjoying every bodily function that makes an obnoxious noise.....

I just thank my lucky stars, because I would much rather have to try to slow them down than try to speed them up. :D :D

Just think, these little boys grow up, wait, maybe they never grow up. My son who is 20 cleanes and washes his truck like it is something to worship (sp) to bad he didn't think the same way about keeping his room clean. BOY'S WILL BE BOY'S:D

Your 7 year old sounds just like my 7 year old  , with one exception: Ours has an 11 year old sister to torment!!

If anyone could explain little boys, we'd be on our way to being able to explain MEN!!

(And we all know THAT will never happen. ;) )

Just check out Nickelodeon and the movies they like! An inappropriate body sound is a source of constant guffaws!! Jimmy Neutron actually end the movie with a belch scene. I saw it in Universal and the little boys were hysterical...

My son is 9 and thinks this stuff is soooo funny. I'm just glad I'm not the only one wondering WHY???

All I have to say is having 4 boys and a dh you better wear a gas mask if you come to visit me!:teeth:

LOL disneyaholic. :teeth: Too true.

Actually, though, I grew up with 7 brothers (3 older, 4 younger) so I'm quite familiar with boys. God gave me 2 boys for a reason, while I may not completely understand them, I'm real good at anticipating what they are going to do or say or what they will laugh at. Little men, gotta love 'em. :)

LOL! He sound perfectly normal to me!! Amazing how those "sounds" resonate isn't it? You should be in my den every week when the Cub Scouts are here!!! They have "contests"! :p One of the parents walked over to me last week after my ds had performed a particulary awesome "burp" and all the boys were rolling on the floor in laughter (which is a wonderful sound;) ) and she said to me, "You know he is famous for that!" My son the celebrity!!:p Just laugh with them...they are only little once!!!;)

I love learning from those who have treaded these waters before me...:D  :D !

I have 2 DS's, ages 10 and 12. We rented Scooby Doo a couple of weeks ago and they're begging me to buy it. Why? So they can watch over and over and over the part where Shaggy and Scooby have a burping and farting contest! DH and I have started "punishing" them for the really obnoxious noises - 10 pushups, 15 or 20 if the noise is really bad. At this rate, by the time they're grown they'll have really strong muscles, LOL!

Ohhhh...Scooby Doo!!! I told ds this weekend if he didn't stop playing that part over and over itwas going to break!!! HAHAHA!!:p
