Can anyone dine at Mangino's at Shades of Green

There has been some debate on this on the board in the past. I called SOG a few months ago and was told dining is open to anyone -- they even told me you can book it through the central dining reservations line.

Others have said they'd had the opposite experience, and didn't think you could.

I'd call SOG and ask. See what answer you get. The number is (407) 824-3400.

I had a reservation last month at Manginos while staying at POR, so no, you do not have to be a guest of SOG to dine there.

I got this answer off of the sog website

Q:
Can I dine in your restaurants even if I do not hold a reservation at Shades of Green?

A:
Yes. You will be asked to provide a valid military ID to access Shades of Green property.

Interesting....I just called SOG and was told that you could only dine there if you had a military ID to get on property....

Once again, Disney has provided conflicting information.....

Too bad, though...the menu looks great!!!

We've never shown military id to get on the grounds- however we have always had a room reservation (my parents have military id). When we check in at the gate they just asked for our license but I don't know if that is because we are already listed as hotel guests. You really aren't missing anything there though...

Having to show military ID just to get on the grounds is interesting. We'll have friends staying there when we go next May--making it hard for us to dine with them at that restaurant, or even stopping by in our car (they won't have one) to pick them up and take them to dinner at Jiko.

If you call ahead to the gate shack, you can probably put them on a guest list (just like at a military base). Probably just give their name and they will check their driver's license at the gate.
