Thanks so much for the kind words...Believe it or not, I actually am not really worried about vacation too much now.


It's 4:30am in the morning here. I've been up for the past hour. I found out yesterday during a church staff meeting that someone that my family is very, very close to just found out she has cancer. It's in her lymph nodes, blood and bones which obviously is the worst possible news. She doesn't want anyone to know yet as they need to do a biopsy and then figure out her treatment options. So basically I have to pretend that nothing's wrong at Bible Study tonight and at church on Sunday. I do know that my brother found out yesterday during a meeting at his work and had to leave because he was so upset. This woman and her family have been so, so good to my brother and nephew since my SILs death.

As you can imagine, it was a tough day. I got home last night and was in bed by 10pm which is very early for me. It'll be interesting to see how the next 5 days go.

Oh, Jordan! I'm so sorry to hear that. How blessed she is to have you praying for her. I remember when I was first going through all this medical nightmare stuff, when I just didn't have it in me to talk about it to people, knowing that my select handful of prayer warriors were covering me and lifting me up was such a comfort. I'll say a prayer for her right now!

5 days!!!! This week will fly by! Jordan, sorry to hear about your friend. I bet that is what is getting you down - You were hoping to have all of the sadness behind you. I hope you can just enjoy your family, make lots of memories, and have fun looking forward to Wendy's new little one!

Oh Jordan....I'm so sorry that these things keep happening to those you love. I'll keep you and your family and friends in my prayers.

I was able to talk to my friend whose mom is the one w/ terminal cancer. My friend and I were able to laugh a little so that was nice. They will know more after this next Wednesday.

Hey Jordan, are you getting soaked? According to the "storm tracker" it's been raining cats and dogs in your neck of the woods! Here it's a balmy 8 degrees with out a cloud in the sky!

Nope. No rain right now, but it's been pretty constant since Tuesday. We're expecting a big one tomorrow night.

J is resting up for upcoming trip. He's committed to doing an hourly live trip update via his Palm Treo.

I can hardly wait!!

Boy, he's going to get some serious finger cramps!!

A live update will happen once or twice. I don't know about every hour....

And at a "nickel" a shot, he's sure to go broke.

Thanks to both of you. I'm doing better now....I kind of have to detach a bit in order to survive. I still pray and think about this family, but I have so much going on right now that I just have to soldier onward....

I am going to have a great time. I can't help but have a good time. I have soo many pictures that I have to take for the trip report.

On a serious not: I hope that you can find joy in being with your family and a sense of peace on your trip.

My SIL is going to call this morning so that we can coordinate flights to go to Florida in March to visit two other SIL's. The torture of it is that we will be flying into Orlando but heading to Vero Beach! When she calls I am going to try to convince her to do a day at Disney before we drive down.

You CANNOT fly into Orlando and NOT go to WDW...at least Downtown Disney....or Magic Kingdom......or Animal Kingdom...

I feel a bit better every day. I'm still sad, but our friend is still alive so we have to celebrate that.....

Weather forecasts so far look good. Mid to High 70's mostly. I haven't seen anything under 70 so far. in the evenings mostly 50's....Scattered showers a few days.........Looks good.

You're really close now. Almost time to completely finish packing, start freaking out that you probably forgot something, decide that whatever it is, you can probably just BUY it if you have to when you get there, unpack and re-pack your carry-on five times, realise after you FINALLY get it the way you want it that the ziplock with all of your liquids is not easily accessible, unpack and repack AGAIN, calm binder and winkie's jitters about flying for the first time, and finalize those ADRs.

Don't forget undies!
