 Birds me no likey. The Dallas World Aquarium ( a must-see if you're in the Dallas area) has a three-story rainforest where the birds fly freely around. You know, Toucans are pretty big birds. I never realized how big they really are. Until, of course, I found myself washing toucan poop out of my hair in the ladies' room sink.:scared1: On the plus side, if you get pooped on ,you get a free shirt that reads "I was a HIT at the Dallas World Aquarium." Frankly, I would have rather been a "miss." Of course, I still go back because it's the only place I know where you can get nose to nose (through the glass) with manatees.

Yeah, I would rather avoid any dookie.:) :scared1:

Yikes on the prices.....:scared1:

We'll see what the folks I'm planning on going with have to say about this.

I'll have to check prices out too.

Which cruise are you guys going for? I was looking at the 7 night Western Caribbean and the total for the 3 of us w/airfare came to $8,000!!:scared1: Does this sound right?? I have no idea, but if this is the going rate I'm definitely going to have some tweaking to do. Are there also charges at each port? And are there also charges for each activity you want to do at each port? I'm so confused as to how this all works.

7 day Eastern, but I don't know who's going w/ me....

8000 would be right depending on what category you were thinking of.

No charges at each port, but there are charges for each excursion you book at ports.

Oh that stinks! :goodvibes Your toucan story reminded me of a time we went to an animal park in Okinawa - I had just stepped through the gate of the aviary with a bag of popcorn for my DSs to feed the birds. These two giant birds ran up and started pulling on the bag - I started screaming, much to the disdain of the Japanese people (not polite to make a scene there :) ) and running with the popcorn falling out and the birds following me along with more of their friends! DH yelled "just drop the bag!" Problem solved. :lmao: And yes, I am blonde! :thumbsup2

For us 4 to get a cat 9 (still has a porthole but no balcony since I'm paranoid about that) in August it's a little more than $4000 NOT including insurance or airfare which will probably be about $1300. The agent I'm going to use gives $300 OBC which is the best I've come across. If anyone wants her info PM me, I got it from another Diser

I can picture you running and screaming. I must admit, it made me laugh a little. ;) :)

That 300 will go fast, especially if you like martinis......;) :rolleyes1

Check out the info about Vista Spa. It's expensive, but nice......

So, do you have to wait until you get to the ports to book the excursions? I've looked at the Eastern too. We were considering that first but then we realized that a lot of the beaches there clothing is optional. :scared1:

Anyway, that price was for a Category 5 room for the 3 of us. DS will be 5 years old by then and the price also included airfare. Honestly, once I calculated up all of our extra's at WDW, the gas to get there, the hotel on the way there and on the way home, we get pretty darn close to that price anyway.:scared1: :scared1: So, maybe it's do-able. Still :scared1: , though!

No you can book excursions, spa appts and other things much like ADRs at WDW. I forget how far out you can book, but it's something like 3 to 6 months as well....

We didn't have an issue w/ seeing topless people or naked people. Both beaches we went to--everyone had the drawers on.

I think Cat 5 has a balcony. We've had a balcony before and found it was hardly used...it is nice though.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You said drawers.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well that's good to hear because thats really the one we wanted to go on.

Yes the cat 5 & 6 has the balcony. I was thinking DH and I could hang out there with a drink when DS takes his nap. But who am I kidding, we probably won't even be ON the boat during that time. He probably won't even take a nap during this vacation.:confused3 Hmmm, I may factor that in. We could come out a LOT cheaper with just a window!

Glad I could make you smile :)

We went on the Eastern - just chose our excursions by the descriptions of the beaches i.e. - went to the Dutch side of St. Maarten instead of the French side. No problems. :thumbsup2

My head is going to explode

I don't know why I do this to myself, but I keep tinkering with the itinerary that I've written for our trip in Feb.

As a reminder, I have to juggle 5 different itineraries as all groups are arriving separately and departing at different times on different days.

So yesterday, Wendy and I were discussing ADRs and we brought her DH, Derek into the conversation. We asked the foodie what his preferences were.

He replied, "I really would rather eat at California Grill than Flying Fish Cafe and if Flying Fish is 2 TS credits, then I would rather have 2 TS meals rather than just the one Signature Dining Experience."

Wendy and I.....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We had originally scheduled both CA Grill AND Flying Fish, but now have to cancel Flying Fish.

With me so far?

HOWEVER, our orginal CA Grill ADR is scheduled for Sunday which is AFTER Josh, Joanne and Fred leave. We want them to be able to eat at one Signature Dining Restaurant before they leave......

We are now trying to get an ADR at CA Grill on Friday night (yeah right) which is Josh/Jo/Fred's last night.

HOWEVER, That's when our Coral Reef ADR is.

Oh wait let's just stick with CA Grill for now....

So if CA Grill is not available on Friday, we'll look into Thursday and Wednesday. If CA Grill is not available on any of those days, then we will keep the Sunday ADR for now.

If CA Grill isn't available, then Narcoosee's would be choice 2.

If that isn't available, then we'll stick w/ Flying Fish.

Now....our Coral Reef ADR for Friday wasn't in the system (:headache: ) so they only time available was 8:10pm which we think we be too late. So IF CA Grill can't be scheduled on Friday, we still want to change this ADR to another restaurant. Our choices right now are GF Cafe, 1900 Park Fare and Kona Cafe. I tried to suggest Ohana....no one in my family seems to interested in this restaurant. :confused3 :confused3

We also have 1 more ADR to make and are going to try for Sci-Fi--Derek's choice since he hasn't been there since 1997. I don't think we're going to get into this restaurant, but we'll keep trying.

Kim and I also have a Signature Dining Meal to schedule, we are looking at either Jiko or Brown Derby or maybe Flying Fish.

Wendy and I were working on this last night for at least an hour. I still don't think we have the options all straight......

wish us luck.....we'll need it........:scared:

Wow. Good luck. Wish you the best. Keep us posted on how it turns out.
