Can a non-package person share a package room?

Hi. Just wondering if this would work. DB is planning to go to WDW to see his daughters in a dance competition. I am thinking of going with DM as well. If we went, we would probably go a day before him. If we got packages, could he just get tickets and share our room for the 2 days he was there? Do they give additional key cards?

I guess the different options are--we all get packages, we get packages and he gets tickets, or we all just get tickets (maybe 1 annual pass) and book the room separately. Ugh. Too much to figure out.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think so. When we went in Sept I had an AP and DDE card. My son and D-I-L did not. We got the pkg with the free dining and they said I could not be in the room with them and them still get it. I asked what about if I booked my room with the AP discount for one night and then booked theirs at room rate for the full week, then after we got down there I moved in with them for the rest of the trip. The CM still said no, that everyone in the room must be on the same pkg, which meant I had to either buy us all MYW tickets or else stay out of their room. I called several times thinking a different CM might be able to work something out, but all said no.

We booked an 8 night package with the free dining for the beginning of October this year. After we already paid for our package in full my college age daughter decided she wanted to join us for a long weekend since she did not have classes on Thursday or Friday.
I called my TA to let her know about 10 days before we were leaving. The TA called Disney and ME. When I checked in at All Star Music I just let the front desk know my daughter was coming for 3 nights.
I paid the extra fee of $30 for the extra adult and they made a room key for her.
My TA said that when my daughter got to the MCO she should pick up her own luggage then go to the ME express and give them our reservation #
telling them the rest of the party had arrived earlier in the week and ME would take her to All Star Music.
We just bought her tickets seperatly and paid OOP for her meals
Everything worked out fine and we all had a great time.
Have fun at Disney!

You might to check on the ME part. People have reported lately that if the name is not on the reservation they weren't able to use DME. I would ask on the transportation board if you are using DME.

It is my understanding that if you purchase a package, everyone in the room must be on the same package. The MYW package information stresses this.

DISers could give you tips on how to circumvent this, however - ultimately, it's probably up to the resort CMs to let you do otherwise.

It's going to be up to the CM checking you in whether it will be allowed or not. Officially, everyone must be on the same package with the same tickets, etc. Some CMs will cut you a room key for the extra person, but some may not.

I would say that is definatly true if all the guests are arriving together.
But if an extra guest as in our case is only staying a couple of the days will they make that guest pay for 8 nights when they are only staying 2 or 3?
That is why I asked my TA. I wanted to be honest and would have gladly paid the extra days if that was required but she just told me that upon arrival I should let the front desk know my daughter was arriving a few days later and only staying 3 nights.

In your case, your TA has checked ahead, and I assume the TA documented this arrangement so you don't have any trouble at the resort. Did the TA give you anything in writing?

Hope you have a great trip.
