Can a commando-type tourer ever be reformed??

We're reformed commandos, although we're still really in the process of learning to stop and smell the roses.

I still do tons of planning before we go. I have a lot of fun planning, and I like knowing I have a general idea of what we want to do and when. But once we actually get there, we relax and go with the flow.

If I misunderstood your post my hubble apology in advance!!

palmtreegirl,

sorry, I should've put one of these :teeth: in my post, not taking a jab at you at all. On our last trip, try as I might to stay on my commando track, my parents, mother-in-law, sister, niece, wife and 2 kids brought me back to reality.

Didn't mean to make it sound as if I was poking fun at you...just thought it was funny, because we think WL is relaxing also, but we still opt to go commando style thru the parks.

No problem! Thanks so much for posting back to me!! We just had a trip with extended family but they're the exact opposite from us total commando style. Wanna trade families? ;) Sorry about the misunderstanding! :)

My sister and I make trips to WDW even without our families, and have been may times. Each time I think we are NOT going to go commando style, but we can't resist hitting EVERY ONE of our favorites. We don't have many of the same favorites, so that means hitting EVERY attraction!

I swear that one day I am going to go to WDW and not go in the parks.

We love going together, though, because the rest of the family aren't really commandos. :)

Disnee Dad Says...........................................It took three trips to develop it, but on our fourth trip we did it. Commando with pockets of time well placed to smell the roses!
Get a FP, show up five minutes early, not to huddle at the entrance, but to look around and enjoy. When it is your time, you only need to wait 30 seconds and the masses will be gone.
When you can do fantasyland in 40 minutes, you can afford to loaf for up to 4 minutes!
Truthfully, if you can super commando, by lunch you did a whole day of "work!" Then you reverse and smell roses, with pockets of time for commando.
We are a sad bunch, on our last trip we made no plans at all, and still did semi- commando.
The night before would be like this.
Well? MK. Fantasy? Of course. Splash or Space? Space. Buzz? Sure. Then? EPCOT. So early? Ya. FP TT and do Ellens? Exactly.
World left or right? You pick. Right. Right? Food and Wine! Right!

Which means.... Where shall we go tommorrow? I believe we shall go to the Magic Kingdom. Do we do our plan of finshing fantasyland in less than an hour? Why certainly! Then do we dash to Splash Mountain or Space Mountain? I think we should do Space Mountain this time. And Buzz Lightyear? Ya, we go off peak. What's next? EPCOT. Isn't that a little early? Yes it is. So we Fast Pass Test Track, Hit Universe of Energy, Some Wonders of Life depending on time, and open the World Showcase. Exactly.
Shall we go to Mexico or Canada? I think that you should pick. Canada. Canada? It is the food and wine festival and I would so much like some cheddar cheese soup. Yes that sounds fantastic, and a nice movie to rest for 15 minutes.
OK, Maybe we are still commando even if we make no plans! lol
