without getting the DT's???

We did free dining last summer and loved it. We are going again this summer for a diabetes convention and staying 7 nights at BCV's.

Since we are DVC we usually just eat one or two meals out...last year was awesome eating out everynight. Right now we are a split ressie of 4 nights and 3 nights. Figuring we could do just 3 nights of dining and have fun. The more I think about I would love to do dining everynight.....for 6 adults that would be $1600 for 7 nights vs about $700 for 3 nights. I never have spent that much on food at WDW in our entire 8 years of DVC. Usually I spend about $500 including nights out. We could probably swing the extra money but I don't know if I really want to part with it...can't figure out how to convince myself.

ps...I've already made ADR for all 7 nights

Well...you said you usually only eat 1-2 TS meals out, and spend about $500.

But you also said you loved the dining plan when it was free, it was awesome eating out every night, you would love to do dining every night, and you've already made ADR's for all 7 nights...

So yep, it will be more expensive, but it sure seems like you'd enjoy yourself :teeth:

Consider this: if each adult orders one TS meal a day valued at $25 (that can be entree only, entree with appetizer and/or dessert, or a buffet (count $27 for a buffet, but that includes a beverage which would cost $2 separately anyway)

$25 meal
$2 beverage
$2 tax
$5 tip
so that's $34 OOP per person for a $25 meal. The plan is $39 per person per day, and includes that TS meal, plus a CS, plus a snack. And you probably won't have to cook at all. So if you are going to eat a TS meal every day anyway, and would normally spend $25 per person plus a beverage, the plan is worth it. If you like signature restaurants, then your meals have to average about $50-$52 per person to still be worth it. :teacher:

I guess it's just sticker shock. I have never spent more then $500 for a week of meals at Disney.

But last summer I really did enjoy the freedom and variety that eating at Disney restaurants offered. I know it's a good deal if you eat out. The problem is we don't really eat out other then last summer.

I guess other families of 6 also spend $1600 for a week of food at disney.....
