I read where one poster on here is staying at the campground and was still able to do the dining plan. Anyone else going to be doing this?

We're going to FW for two weeks in October for our 25th anniversary and we've signed up for the silver plan. I think the name of that has changed but that's what it was last October when I set up this trip.

Our plan includes two "wishes" per day that can be used for meals at any of the restaurants or other entertainment like golf at Disney, etc. It was a little pricey but considering that we don't have to look at any prices on any menu and can pretty much eat anywhere, anytime, it was perfect for the two of us. Friends of our did this last year with their kids and everyone was lobstered, steaked and top of the menu-ed out by the time they went home.

You'll get your money's worth. Though we'll be at Disney for 13 nights I only got park passes with dining for 9 days. That way we'll have time to do other stuff like go to the Kennedy Space Center etc.

After all, we're not total gluttons... (yet).

The new dining plan is a good deal for a lot of people. The problem we had with it when we were pricing things is that you can't combine an AAA or AP discount with the meal plan. Although you could book through AAA to get the discount but my AAA is kinda clueless.

You can book a package online for the campground + tickets + dining.

I'm going to be looking at the meal plans for 2006 to see if it makes sense to combine it with our trip!

We are staying at FW in November and have the dinner plan. I did a LOT of pricing using this and other Unofficial Disney sights. The way I have figured it, we pay for the Table Service meals. All other meals and snacks on the plan will be effectively free. I went through the menues and figured out what the Wife and I would actually eat (as opposed to what the plan says you can get). I then found the prices. After comparing the prices of the plan verses what we would eat if we went cheap, there is a $2 difference BEFORE tax and tips :earseek: .

If you do a lot of research, find out what you will actually eat, then compare that price to the daily price of the plan ($35 for adult, $10 kids 11 and under), then you can see if it pays.

Remember the Tax and Tip are paid for in the plan, no extra out of your pocket.

Go read the Dinning threads for tips.

Does the free dining plan come with a camping package? I'm getting it with the cabins but a friend is taking a pop-up and I wonder if she can get the free promotion?

Had my TA check on the free dining plan yesterday, and sadly, the campground is the only "resort" not included in this offer. The cabins are, but the campsites are not. :guilty:
