Camping in the USA

The Shasta/Mt Lassen area of Northern California is also beautiful, you can hike to the top of Mt Lassen...

 In fact, it is sooooo eye-catching that I pulled my camper right under a restaurant awning and pulled off both the awning and 20 feet of our top. Instant moon roof!

Thankfully, they took it well. We all went inside and ordered lunch, and I splurged for a souvenier Black Bear Diner mug. It only cost me $3400.

Ha ha!!! We ate at the Black bear diner every time we drove from Oregon to my Parents house in California. The one right in Shasta.
I always bought something from the gift shop. I didn't know the restaurant awning was available! Dang! Missed my chance.

My wife and sons and I all love tent camping. We camped in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in '08. It was a great trip. I think we needed to reserve the camp spots before we got to the parks (my wife handles the logistics).

Here are a few "camping" picks from that trip:

I've got some picture slideshows of our vacations, several of which are camping trips, posted here. The camping trips include the Yellowstone trip, a trip to western Canada, and a couple of canoe trips.
