Hello fellow campers!

We are heading to the Fort for the first time in February from the 2 to the 12. We are from Canada (northern Ontario) so we arent too worried about the temperatures.

Me and the hubbie folded to family peer pressure and have decided to rent a popup while we are rather then staying in a tent- we have three kids who will be 2 14 and 16 and the teenagers werent too keen on staying in a tent for ten nights with their lovely parents and baby sister!

How far of a walk is it from the 1500 loop to the meadow pool area?
Do they offer pony rides year round and the petting zoo?
Anything we need to know about visiting fort in february? Is the pool always closed for a few weeks for refurbs, that kind of thing :)

We have been lurking a while so thank you for all the valauble information we has got from everyone!

Thanks in advance!

I have been three times at that time of year. I found it to be pleasant as far as temps go 70-80 for highs every trip. Its about 5 minute walk to meadow area from the 1500 loop from the 2000 loop your other option for pop ups its only 10 minute walk it just seams further although golf carts are fun they are not necessary. They have homeschool and yes tickets available at that time of year they offer great savings. Wewill be their in january of next year have fun camping.

We enjoy February at the fort. My children's birthdays are 2/3 & 2/7 so that is a popular week for us to go down. We always tent camp. Our solution to our kids not wanting to be in with us - we give them their own small tent ;).

We have gone when the temps were nice like PP said, but we've also gone when we wore winter hats and gloves some days, and we're from Michigan. So come prepared for anything. We've gone at varying times of the year, and although we've never taken the pony rides, they were always going on as far as I could tell. The pool has also always been open. It is heated to 84 degrees year round. My kids love it year round. In February, I tend to stick to the hot tub! Like PP said, the walks to the meadows pool aren't bad no matter way you stay and the bus system everywhere else is efficient.

Have a great trip!

We've been camping in Florida in February for the last 13 or so years. Not at WDW, but, about 40 miles west. The weather isn't that much different.

It can be very cold or very hot during that month. I remember one trip when it was 40 for a high one day and 80 the next, then back to 40 and then 80 again...then it rained.

On the other hand, except for President's Day weekend. WDW is usually very calm and quiet.

Being only 40 miles from WDW, we usually find at least one or two days to make it over. :D

We usually camp at the Fort for Christmas. It seems warmer then.

It can be cold at that time of the year... We've hit it twice during that time it went below freezing.... but most of North America was is a freeze warning that week not just Florida... But being a northern Ontarian (hello from southern Ontario) you'll be fine... My hubby was the only one in the cold snap to be wearing a sweatshirt and shorts and all the CMs kept asking if he was crazy or Canadian... lol
Bring a heater for the pop up if you don't have one and a fan as well.... The weather could be either way... lol

Hello southern Ontario :)

We have been camping at Thanksgiving here where you are mittened up and it is near freezing, so I am assuming we will be those crazy Canadians ooooing and ahhing in shorts and the pool while everyone else is in jeans and sweaters! We are driving down though so we plan on bringing all four seasons of clothes... three week roadtrip!

We did three weeks 2 yrs ago and loved it. We always take a bit of everything too. Helps us be prepared... Lol

Not a long walk to the pool and trading post and the weather should be GORGEOUS! We've been there in March for the past few years and it's tshirts during the day and sweatshirts at night. VERY nice weather and it will probably feel very warm to you!

Can be one of the best months for anything you want to do. We live in Florida about 80 miles North of Disney and visit November through May. Some times at the resorts and some at the fort.

We went camping last November and it was much colder than what I expected. I was cold every night and when we went back during the spring break we took space heater with us. We needed to use it only for couple nights but it worked out fine even tho we do tent camping. I honesty have no Idea why we just didn't go to walmart to get one. During the day the temperature went up to 80s but at night it was in 40s. Pools are heated and there is also hot spa.
