Campground suggestions

Hi! We're making the trip to Fort this summer by way of I10 across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good campground (preferably in Florida...trying to make it as close to Orlando as possible) that we can stop at? Any help is much appreciated!

There is Tropical Palms, Lake Magic, KOA and Thousand Trails. All within 30 minutes of The Fort.

Thank you so much. We are shooting for stopping a few hours shy of the Fort. We're pulling from East Texas, and are hoping to get close to (maybe Tallahassee?).

We travel from Texas. We love staying at state or national parks but seem to want the easiest, safest, accessable park for overnight stays on the way to WDW. Depending on when we leave and how hard we push it, we prefer to stay at Milton KOA in Florida or Meaher State Park in Mobile. Tallahassee East - Monticello KOA is closer to WDW but the distance between Pensacola and Tallahassee seems brutal at the end of a hard travel day. To us, the Milton KOA is a nicer park and easier to access than the Monticello KOA.

We've read good reviews about Black River State Park near Holt, Fl and just off IH 10 but have never stayed there.

Gig'em and you are welcome. We've also stayed at Tickfaw and Fountainbleau in Louisiana for overnight stays on 3 day trips when we couldn't leave until afternoon.
