We've decided it will be worth the extra 30 minutes to check it out..if we get in great...if not...at least we know what it looks like for future trips...and we'll move on down the road.

Trust me, I go to Gulf so often I know the story. They only have "so many" sites set aside for snow birds. Those MAY be all reserved. But there will be 200-300 sites still available. They only set aside 30-40% of capacity for the birds. If you choose to go there you will not be disappointed. If you need a restaurant recommendation, let me know. There is a Super-Walmart nearby if you are buying groceries but we like eating down there too.

Gulf is my fave!

Thanks Bama Ed. Who knows...we may get there and decide to stay a night or two. Of course, we have to either settled in a park or home to get ready for all the bowl games.

We've figured out that Gulf Shores is approximately the same distance from us as South Padre, Texas. We were disappointed with South Padre, so will be looking closely at Gulf Shores.
