Hi! We are staying at POP, but want to come and experience FW while we are in the world. Here is/was my plan for a week from Monday (February 5th):
- DS wakes up at 3:30pm at Pop.
- We take Disney bus to TTC, boat to FW.
- Enjoy the pony rides, petting zoo.
- ADR's at Trail's End for 5:30.
- Enjoy the campfire/sing-a-long (I think it starts at 7pm?) and maybe the movie (8pm?).

I think my timing is ok for this, although opinions are welcome. What I've just realized is that the MK fireworks are at 6:45 that night. Can we see them from FW, do we need to be on the beach?
Can someone suggest how best to do this, if it is possible at all. I can try and change the ADR's if necessary. Thank you!!!

I would take the bus to Magic kingdom and then the boat to FW.

Dinner at Trails end at 5:30 should put you on the beach for the fireworks by 6:45 if you dont linger too long. IIRC the fireworks are almost 20 minutes.

a 10 minute walk to the campfire would put you there after 7 and you would miss Chip and Dale and whatever wonderful mega talented cast member is leading the sing along (be careful with Chip if you have a hat on)

The movie should start around 7:40

hope that helps

Thank you!
I didn't realize the boat left from MK rather than the TTC... although looking at the map I should have.

Somehow I thought we had to take a bus to the campfire, so we can walk then? Only 10 minutes... is that at 'quick, adult pace' or will it take much longer with a 5 year old in tow?

Hmm... I don't think we want to miss the beginning of the campfire, that was the point of the whole excursion!

I think your 5 y/o should be able to cover that in 10 minutes. Just walk down the sidewalk past the bus stop and the Meadows area is on your left. Cross over the footbridge and you are there. You can bring your own goodies or buy them at the chuckwagon. Make sure and bring your camera for pics with Chip and Dale. Be sure and say "howdy" to Ms Sundee, Ms Julie and Ms Jeannie for us.

The boat ride from the MK is pleasant and worth taking all by itself.

If time is pressing you can also take an Outpost bus (yellow I believe) and get off at the 800 loop. It's right near the bridge that was mentioned. It's really a fun thing to do. You should be able to do smores for about $7 for your group. I would recommend bringing a Hershey's bar because the kit they sell only has a small one.

You can see the fireworks from the beach, but I don't think the music is piped to FW. It's much more magical at the MK or even from one of the hotels (CR, Poly, GF). The music may even be piped in at the hotels.

You can hear the music coming from the floats. It is really neat at the holidays because they change the theme up some. You can see the fireworks just as good from the beach too from MK. I have seen the Epcot fireworks too and that is not to be missed.

Your plan sounds just like the plan we have for Wednesday the 7th with our 2 1/2 year old! :thumbsup2 I hope you have a great time, and thanks for posting so that I have this info too. Hey, when will the February movie schedule be up?

The 7th is our last day... we are probably going to watch Wishes from MK that day. :thumbsup2
From what I've read, the Feb. movie schedule doesn't come out until the 1st. Hopefully someone will post and let us know for sure. If so, where do we get a schedule while at WDW (we leave home on Monday).

Actually, if you take the Yellow bus, you would want to get off at the 1500 loop. If you take the Orange bus, then you would get off at 800 loop (also called Meadows stop).

Whatever you do, don't take the Purple bus, as it doesn't go anywhere near the campfire.
