Camp Woodward- Cheer/tumbling

Have you heard of this camp? Just trying to get more information for my daughter.

DD is a gymnast, and for the last 4 years we have gone to Lake Owen, the WI version of Woodward. I say we go, as I have been part of the Mom and Dad to camp program, being Camp Nurse. Not sure what the Cheer program has to offer, but our team loves the gym program. This will be our 4th season of being VIPs. One week from Saturday we go to camp, I cannot wait.

Does she learn a lot in that week? my daughter is 8 and I am considering letting her go...it's to late for me to be a camp mom this year but I will for sure next year. However they said I can visit, watch her workouts eat with her etc. I am just trying to get a feel of what they do there.

I live about 45 minutes from there. None of my kids have ever gone there, but I know a few years ago they trained an Olympic gymnast. They actually deal with a lot of sports now, not just gymnastics like they used to.

I think that is the camp my friends son went to last year for skateboarding. He LOVED it.

About a dozen girls from dd's cheer gym are going to Woodward this summer and have been going for quite a few years. It is good skills wise but the accommodations leave ALOT to be desired LOL

I am going to date myself here- I went as a gymnast about 18 years ago and was extremely pleased with the training facilities and the coaching program. I have not kept up with the camp so I am not sure how it is today. If she does go, be sure to have her climb the rock wall that takes you upside down. (If it is still there)
