Kat: "The tree was once Thalia, a daughter of Zeus. She died to let her friends safely get to camp. As she died, Zeus took pity on her and turned her into a tree. The tree provided the border, which keeps monsters out of camp. After an incident with the Golden Fleece, Thalia came back as a human, but the tree still provides and protects us with the shield on the border."

Audrianne: "Is that a.....dragon guarding the tree?"

Kat: She laughed. She'd gotten so used to it, she never realized it would seem abnormal to new campers. "Yeah," she said with a smile. "Peleus."

Audrianne: "Oh. It doesn't...eat campers, right?" She asked, feeling stupid.

Zoë: She sat up, groggy. She set her ankle (she tried not to curse in Greek too much but it hurt) and stood again with the help of a tree. Zoë thought about how she could leave:

1) Shadow travel
2) The Doors of Orpheus
3) Talk to her dad

She immediately vetoed #3 and #2 because the Doors of Orpheus involved a lot of stairs, and talking to her dad was out of the question. She would have to wait to shadow travel until it was later in the day so it wouldn't tire her as much.

Will: Thalia died for her friends... He wondered if he could be that brave. Will noted in his head to leave the dragon alone.

Will: They went past a lot of interesting places. They reached the archery range where a girl with blonde hair and startling gray eyes was practicing. She would be considered hot at his old school, and he wasn't sure how to act around most girls.

Alice: She saw Kat and a boy and girl. She immediately looked at the newbies, trying to find strengths and weaknesses. "Hi," she said, lowering her bow, "I'm Alice, daughter of Athena."

Will: "Ummm, hi. I'm Will." He tried not to sound too nervous, but the way that this girl's eyes searched him was creeping him out. Also, he wasn't comfortable with the fact that she was heavily armed.

Alice: She could tell that he was nervous. Alice immediately knew that he was a powerful demigod; he radiated a bit of energy, kind of like Kat. She looked at Kat as if to say He's a powerful one!

This wasn't exactly the most welcoming place. But then, they probably blamed them for that girl being carried off by the Fury.

Alice: She smiled, lightening up. "Welcome to camp. By the way, while your in the Hermes cabin keep one hand on your wallet at all times," she said, not really joking. "Capture the flag is tonight, I think you'll like it. We play with swords and armor in the forest."

Will: "Swords?"

Alice: She nodded. "Don't worry, no one gets seriously injured. And if they do, nectar and ambrosia can heal them. Just watch out for the Ares kids, they're mean."

Before running away and then meeting Will, Audri had been very afraid of her magic, and her dad had tried to surpress it, to 'minimize the incidents', but when she met Will he had convinced her to try to get control of it, and she now had decent control. "Sounds like fun."

Before running away and then meeting Will, Audri had been very afraid of her magic, and her dad had tried to surpress it, to 'minimize the incidents', but when she met Will he had convinced her to try to get control of it, and she now had decent control. "Sounds like fun."

Alice: "Athena and Hermes cabin have decided to work together this time, so you two will be on my team."

Will: "That's good I guess..."

Alice: "We come up with the best strategies, so you're in luck."
