Has anyone been to Camp Fire Sing-Along with Chip and Dale at Fort Wilderness Campground? If so, what did you think?

The Camp Fire Sing-Along sounds like fun.

We will be staying at POR, Aug 19-26, but plan on visiting Fort Wilderness Campground to see if we would want to plan a future camping trip.

The campfire and singalong is great fun! The singing and character visit happen early, though, so be sure to get there on time. You can take your own snacks and smores fixings or buy them at the chuckwagon.

Be careful visiting Fort Wilderness--is is quite addictive!! You may never want to stay anywhere else :rotfl:

Feel free to ask over on the camping board if you have any more FW questions--we love to talk FW there!!

It's lots of fun. Also plan on taking a few dollars to buy sticks and marshmellows for roasting. It's a cheap and fun activity. We got a great picture of the kids with Chip and Dale. The kids thought the sing-a-long was hokie, but they really did enjoy the whole experience. They especially loved roasting the marshmallows and the movie. One tip, make sure you know where to go once you get to FW. You take a bus and walk down a trail to get there. We were running late our first time and were quite confused. This has become a family tradition for us. It's one of the most fun, yet cheap activities of the trip.

Of the many trips we've taken to WDW and of the MANY different activities we've done, this is one of the ones that definately stand out in my kids' memories. It is a lot of fun. It was not easy getting there, but definately worth the trip!

My kids loved the sing along. We went to hoop de doo show at 5pm and then walked around fort wilderness a while and then over to the sing a long and movie. It was a much slower pace than the parks and a great evening.

We go everytime as well. We stay at FW, and LOVE it! I've never been to the campfire*I always stay at the RV with the baby* But, my sister is eight and LOVES it.

Dale is her favorite character b/c of the camp fire. I can't wait to go this year.

It's wonderful. Don't forget to do the s'mores.

Also, make sure you bring the bug spray. Mosquitoes are on the hunt and they know where to find you.

what time do they do the smores and singalong?

It all starts at 8:00pm in the summer. If you go down to the camping forum here on the DIS, there is a "sticky" on the August movie schedule and campfire program, where you can see what movies are playing when you will be there!

It's fun!! And it's very casual. I've even seen a family who brought a cooler with hot dogs that they cooked on the fire. There are 2 firepits.

First, they start out with a sing-a-long, then Chip and Dale (Chip has the brown nose) walk around to meet everyone. Then they start the movie. There are benches up front to sit on, then bleachers in the back. The ground is made of small rocks, so bring a blanket or beach towel if you think your kids want to sit down in the front to watch the movie.

It was a slow night when we were there, and my kids wanted to leave because a boy was being "naughty" and disturbing my children. I'm not sure if it's very crowded how unruly some of the chidren can be.

Oh, and they have a concession stand to buy the s'mores stuff, and other things to eat/drink. So, bring some money.

When you get tired of the movie (lol), you can head out to find the hayride (well, it's really a wagon ride). I forgot how much it cost, but I do remember using my room key to charge it. That was very, very fun!!! We went all over Fort Wilderness. It was night time and just beautiful. The kids really enjoyed it, until they fell asleep.

I forgot all about the campfire, I think I need to fit this in our itinerary this next trip! :) :)

We are going towards the end of Sept. do you think they will be biting then?

We went to Fort Wilderness to eat at the Trails End Buffet (we made reservations) on Fri. 8/4 for 6 p.m. Afterwards we walked to the little store and there bought a bag of marshmellows, 2 hersheys bars and 1 bx. of graham crackers. Around 8:15 p.m. we took the bus that took us to the place where the campfire was. There I bought 2 sticks and we started making and cooking our smores - we took turns. The movie was Beauty & the Beast!

We had a great time and will definitely do it again.
