This will be my ds 7 and ds 3 1/2 first trip to WDW!! Don't know why I was thinking about it this morning, but I was wondering if anyone else has done this. I thought about getting each of them a disposable camera so that they could take pictures of our trip. I would of course have my camera, but that is our vacation through my eyes. I couldn't help but think how cool it would be to come home, develop their pictures and see what pictures they took while we were there. Anyone ever tried this?

Mine will be 3 & I think I'm gonna let him use a disposable. I read somewhere that it's a neat idea because it shows the trip from their view.

Have they ever used a camera before? Ask them if they would like a camera to use one day. If they have already been, they may have an idea of what they would like to remember. You could help them make a little scrapbook of their pics and put a few of yours showing special memories.

We did this in Dec. when DD was 2.5 and she loved it! Belle even helped her take a picture of the two of them together (and DH took a picture of that, so we have two views of it!)

The pics are so fun (got lots of rear tires from the Stars and Cars parade at DHS--that parade is no longer there, though) and some were surprisingly good (my avi is one that she took of her plush Mickey and Minnie on our bed at CR).

A few things:
If they are 'enthusiastic' picture takers, wait until you are at the parks to give them the cameras. DD used nearly half a camera on the monorail one day!;)

Walgreens sells Disney cameras: Mickey & friends, 100 Acre Wood and Princesses.

Make sure the kids know not to use the flash on the rides.

Keep the cameras in a ziploc bag when not in use. They are easy to forget about until you get wet on a ride or caught in a downpour!

Once we got home, I used Snapfish (other sites offer them as well) to make a flip book for DD of her and our pictures together. The wording is limited, so it made it easy for her to 'read' to us (and others) all about her trip!

Have fun!

We did this for my 2DS when they were 3 and 5 on our first trip. They used up the pics so fast! Then I had to get them more....(Ok I didn't HAVE to)

Our last trip I got them Disney Digital cameras and they LOVE them, I saved money not have to devolop them and they paid for themselves right there.

We did digital book and I did print a few but it was worth it to go digital.

I gave DD a disposable camera on our last trip. Very few of the shots came out (in fact, I think only one was anywhere close to decent), but she had a blast with it. Her birthday is the second day of our September trip. I'm thinking of buying her an inexpensive digital camera for her birthday present. That way I wouldn't have to pay to develop the bad pictures. And maybe being able to see the picture right after she took it would help her learn how to line up the shot.

My sister just ordered a waterproof digital camera thru AVON for my niece to take to WDW. I can't remember exactly how much it was but I'm sure it was under $40.

I got my 3 yo dd a Princess disposable from Walgreens to use on our trip. They also had other characters-cars or nemo I think. I figure if just a few come out, it will be worth the $5. My 10 yo dd has a small digital that I am debating on letting her take. I see it as just one more thing to keep up with.

I got the Mickey Mouse digital camera from Disney Store for $17 on clearance! DD (will be 5 on trip) will get it for her b-day...day before we leave! I fiqure it should work well enough for her!

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot that both DS had one on our last trip. We just had to keep reminding them to stop taking pictures, otherwise, they would've used them all on the jungle cruise. It was their first trip and they had no idea how many more good pictures they would want to be taking.

Now, I just added the cameras to my list of things to buy for the trip and I think I'll have them in my carry-on for when we give them the big surprise - they're not finding out about going to WDW until we get to the ME counter at MCO. I'm making up a little gift bag for each of them for when they get their surprise.

I'm planning on taking 2 disposable cameras for my DDs for our November trip. One regular and one waterproof (we're doing a Disney cruise). I actually am planning on buying them each a digital camera for Christmas and was thinking about giving it to them early but they already won't have much to open because of the trip so disposables it is.

We do this every trip. Then get the pics developed and the kids take them to school to share our trip with their class. they love doing this. Then they put them in their scrapbooks.:thumbsup2
