How wet could I expect to get from the Jurassic Park water ride? Because I'd love to take my camera on with me, but worst case scenario, would putting my camera in a plastic sandwich bag suffice? Thanks!

You are not allowed to use cameras on Jurassic Park. I've had many TMs tell me to put away my camera. I always have the urge to take it out when the big doors are opening and the soundtrack is playing at the beginning. :)

You will only get wet if you sit at the front and this happens at the end of the ride.

I used my waterproof camcorder this last time and had no issues.:confused3

But I would not use a non waterproof camera.

I didn't realize that. I have taken pictures of almost all of the outdoor portion of the ride then put it in my pocket when you go into the building.

If you have a camera, it should be fine in your pants pocket on this ride. If a plastic bag makes you feel more secure, go for it.

Really! Wow! Then I've either had bad luck with the TMs or you've been lucky. :lmao:

I don't understand how they tell you not to use your camera during the ride. Do they get over the PA and say "Hey, put your camera away!"? I've never had my camera out in the load area, so they wouldn't have any reason or chance to say anything to me.

I'm not advocating breaking the rules, but lets be honest, there's no reason you can't take pictures in any outdoor area of the park. I'm all for people not taking flash pictures on rides and disturbing other guests, it's one of my biggest annoyances, but I don't see why they'd tell you to refrain from taking pictures of the entire ride.

I completely agree. Flash photography certainly is a no no! And yes, both times I was in the loading dock. Once the Tm behind the glass thingy and the second time the TM on the platform.

I guess I will take pics of the outside area. I have taken a few, but trying to elude the security cameras. :) I guess it's fine then. :)

This hasn't been my experience. You won't get soaked ala Popeye or Dudley Do Right but I've gotten a considerable splash in the back & middle rows :thumbsup2

I've heard the "put away your camera" spiel over the PA during the T-Rex encounter at the end, but no where else on the ride.

There are several odd rules on Jurassic Park. Don't put your hands up, don't lean forward, don't take a picture. All of which it's really no problem if you do. I wonder if they tell you not to put your hands up so you don't mess up the picture.

I thought they just wanted you to keep your hands inside the boat...meaning don't stick them in the water. The leaning forward I thought was to protect you from hitting the bar when the boat slows down upon water impact.

I know why they tell you not to lean forward, but in reality that doesn't happen. I lean forward every single time because I don't want my front getting wet. I don't see what you can really hit your head on.

I didn't realize that you weren't "supposed" to bring cameras onto the ride. Heh, although it seems none of you have much adhered to that rules :lmao:

I was just hoping I could get away with leaving it in the the plastic bag so I could take pictures without the camera getting too wet :upsidedow

i'm a rebel.
i break the rules and take my camera on that ride and use it.

and, i carry baggies to put the camera and my cell phone in before the drop.

Lou, yes they do get on the PA at times, well, they did for us.

"Hey would the lady with the 3 boys that are standing up fighting please make her kids sit down"

i guess one of my brats touched the other one and that started a brawl on the ride.

but this way years ago and the TM's don't remember what i looked like..:rolleyes1

Geez, imagine if you got banned from the park Mac cuz of that brawl? That would be so awful... What if THAT TM is reading this post... yikes.... :scared1:

I was taking photos last year, and came over the tannoy to put the camera away, took it out on down the ride, and got the message to put it away again
