Camera strap

Hi everyone,
I have a Canon S3 IS and the small strap it came with. We are booked for August at WDW and I need a strap that will feel good on my neck in the heat (and sweat) that doesn't dig into it. Anyone have any recommendations?

TIA

Will a standard optech strap with with a camera like that? I would assume it would.

Thank you! Smugmug is all out. I ordered two different op/tech straps to test out! Can't wait to try them.:goodvibes

I'm another fan of the Op/Tech straps. They make your camera feel so light! Good luck with yours. You won't be disappointed.

mark if you could answer a few ?? about the black rapid strap. from the video it looked like it attached to the tripod screw so would you have to disconnect it every time you used a tripod? but it's about time someone figured out everyone doesn't want to have a neck strap. i would rather have my camera to the side since it saves your neck. i usually carry it lens forward though , not sure how i would like the lens glass being behind me where i can't see someone running into me and banging it but guessing you need to in order to shoot as shown. would you be able to turn the body around ? but it looks like a basically very good idea

The quick release for my ball head has a loop that you could hook to the R strap instead of using the R strap screw in mount. I know not all QR brackets have a loop, but that would allow you to just unhook the strap and pop it on your tripod.

my quick releases all have loops as well, but they are just for screwing the release to the camera bottom, I wouldn't
trust them as a weight bearing source...

also. I've looked at that strap several times, and like their new setup for carrying 2 cameras.., but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable attaching to my vertical grips , I'm not so sure they are made to support that kind of weight..

For a newbie such as myself, it appears to be more strap than i would need for the time being. Any other straps that don't make you look like you work for The Daily Bugle?

Look at the Op/Tech strap. :thumbsup2 Very non-reporter looking :rotfl:
yeah they just make you look like you work for optech:lmao:
really they are more comfortable and imo cooler, as in heat not stylishness, maybe cause they have little bumps on the inside so they don't just lay on your sweaty skin.

I bought the OpTech strap that had the "air cushions" ($25ish) after Christmas and didn't like it. I was replacing an OpTech strap that I'd bought about 7 years ago (so I'm assuming it was 'old school') because it didn't have the cushions on it. The cushioned one didn't seem to have the same amount of give, for lack of a better word, than the $10ish one had. I am so much happier now that I have the strap that is basically plain neoprene.

If you have a Ritz nearby..I have the $10 Quantaray neoprene one on all my slr's(film and digital). Inexpensive, light, comfy, plain black:thumbsup2

Just ordered the Op/Tech Pro long strap for my trip to WDW! Ordered from Adorama with free shipping-- good deal! I am excited to get rid of the flashy Nikon strap.

No strap sounds like it would be comfortable around my neck in the heat so I go for not using a neck strap at all. Try a wrist strap, I find them to be much nicer on a hot day.

I just bought the Op/Tech Pro Strap (Long) this afternoon. Hoping to rid myself of the horrible strap that was included with the camera. It has great reviews online, so I thought I would give it a shot. It should be there in 2-4 days and I am excited to get it before my trip!

I am a fan of the OpTech harness system. Took some getting used to, but now it is my primary "strap" for a Canon XT and XTi usually with a 28-135 or 70-200 (4.0is) attached.
