Camera settings for dark rides/restaurants

haha kinda lucky then! I'd never thought of using burst mode in this kind of scenario. Good tip thanks!

I tried a variety of things in an attempt to get a decent shot. I also had my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens with me but it didn't capture enough of the entire scene, so not what I was looking for. I'm hoping to add the sigma 18-35 f/1.8 before we go back. I'm always wanting to go faster and wider, so that one is calling my name.

I went with aperture priority of 2.8 (best available) with ISO at 3200 (the highest I could stomach) then the camera chose the shutter speed. I would have never though I'd get anything at 1/13. Sometimes you just have to try. Memory is cheap, right? :teeth:

true... but sorting through thousands of pictures when you get home is sometimes a pain in the rear!

I always use burst mode. Mere fractions of a second can have different facial expressions with human/animal subjects, and you have several shots to choose from. Sorting through thousands of shots can be a pain, but it beats not having the shot you wanted.

I'm doing a run this morning (leaving in a few minutes), and the photogs shooting the run never let off the shutter buttons. When you run past them, you just here the shutter a rollin' away. Not sure how they can do this constant shooting (100MB/second easily, which is faster than most media can keep up with), and how long before they fill up media and exhaust battery.
