Camera, lockers, and rides oh my

This will be our first time to go to the darkside. The plan is to Uber it over there & back from Pop.

My understanding is the US is not as friendly to having items on the rides. We normally have a small park backpack & my 35 MM camera.

I could go without my camera but I'm REALLY wanting pictures of the Harry Potter areas (and I'm a phone camera snob...my 35 mm is my go to camera!)

anyway, I'm willing to use lockers if available for my camera.... but only for a short time or if they are in air conditioning.

I'm hoping someone on these boards is a locker expert or can guide me to a better solution.

If you're not riding, for at least the HP rides you can take stuff through with you and you can take pictures to your content. But you will have to tell several TMs that you're not riding, and then you will exit before the seating areas.

I do urge you to look around online, though; if you think of taking a picture of it, there are likely 100 equally good-as-you-would-take pictures out there of the same spot and perspective (and 1000 worse). I love taking pictures and I pretend like I'm the *first person who ever thought of that shot*, but I'm lying to myself when I say that.


I don't know how it works for the metal detector rides, as DH hasn't gone through those lines with us since they put them in. DH obviously cannot ride those two, so him carrying stuff with us wasn't a big deal. They knew he wasn't riding. But going through those lines makes him sad now because despite years of WW and trying soooo hard he still can't fit into them.


But really it's, like, 6 rides that don't allow *riders* to take bags in with them. And 2 that allow nothing but lanyards and eyeglasses. Ooh, 7, just remembered MIB.

We wanted phones in the queues of the HP rides, DH put his in pocket when we did those rides - but it is tight!! Those rides lock you in good.

The lockers at the "lockers required" rides are free for basically the time required to ride. They are located near the entrance of each of the rides. You put your stuff in the locker before you get on the ride, and get it out when you exit the ride. Most are outside, but under cover. There are a couple that are inside....Forbidden Journey comes to mind.

All day lockers are available inside the Main Entrance of each of our theme parks for a rental fee of $10.00 per day, with family size lockers available at Universal Studios Florida for $12.00 per day. Guests have unlimited access to these lockers during the course of the day.

In addition, loose articles are not permitted on select attractions. The following attractions have free lockers available during a visit to the attraction to store all loose articles:

• The Incredible Hulk Coaster®
• Dragon Challenge™
• Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™
• Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit®
• Revenge of the Mummy®
• MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™
• Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™

Additional lockers are available at select attractions inside Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure® for $4.00 for the first 90 minutes; $3 for each additional hour; with a $20.00 per day maximum. These lockers are available at the entrance of the following attractions:

• Jurassic Park River Adventure®
• Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls®
• Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges
