Okay.. I got a digital camera from Konica Minolta.. the version is a Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1. Konica Minolta digital cameras was taken over by Sony. We were extremely dissapointed with our camera. We are going to call them and tell them our complaints. Do you think that they will take that camera back and give us a different one.. or is there no use calling? Please help.. I need a new digital camera!! :sad2:

I would start with the place where you bought it and if that does not work go to Konica Minolta. You might have more luck writing a letter instead of a call if you go back to the manufacturer. Much of this will depend on how long you have had it. If it is a month or less, your chances are better. If it has been a while, they will wonder why you are just now complaining.

If you are given your money back, I suggest looking into a Canon or Panasonic.

I don't honestly believe that the manufacturer is going to refund your money for what is (sorry to be blunt) a mistake entirely on your part. If you've alread exceeded the allowed return time from the store where you bought I'd take the thing an sell it on Ebay for a loss and consider it an expensive lesson in doing research on the things you want to buy.

Why should they take it back? Unless it doesn't work and you just bought it I don't think you have much of a chance.

Have you asked for help on using it on the photography board here on the DIS?

I would doubt they would take the camera back. We have Nikons and Canons now and haven't had any problems with them.

Does the camera not do what it was advertised to do? Or do you just not like the way it performs?

you guys are entirely to right.. it was a mistake on our part.. but we are extremely disatisfied. the pictures are blurry.. the zoom is awful. but ya'll are right. we should have looked more into it.

Do you have a link to some sample pics? Maybe we can help you take better pics with it.

Were using digital..

That is most likely your trouble. Just use your optical zoom and see how your pics are.

I agree with Charade. I have the DiMage Z-1 and the digital zoom isn't very good. The optical zoom works great.

I used mine this past weekend at a family reunion and got some wonderful shots.

Are you shooting in low light situations? Are you using the flash, even if it isn't totally dark? Digital zoom will definitely cause photos to be more blurry and out of focus.

Stop by the photography board, post some photos and your exif data, we can help.

I'm sorry you are disappointed. Is it still under warranty? Do you think it is defective? I can't imagine they would exchange it just because you don't like it.

I'd also make sure you are using it properly. I had some out of focus/blurry shots and was quite disappointed when I 1st got my camera. After learning more about photography and how to use my camera properly, my photos drastically improved.

Seriously, come by the photography board. It's a great resource!

Like RadioNate said, what type of photo's are you taking? What settings are you using?
